As far as VL turbo's go the majority choose to stick to an auto transmission so it was good to see Nigel's giving his manaul box some stick at Calder Park. The VL Commodore is powered by a D'Annello Performance Nissan RB25/30 twin cam turbo six combination that makes big power on pump fuel. Nigel was testing a new 2-step / flat shift setup and the Holden certainly showed promise going 10.04 at 140mph and 113mph to mid track.

Mazda RX3 13B rotary turbo - Promaz Automotive
Ross' immaculate Mazda RX3 runs into the 9s for the first time. The new car
is powered by a Promaz Automotive 13B bridgeport rotary engine and aided by
a Garrett turbo and MicroTech EFI. Ross
has fitted an Albins gearset to the Mazda RX-7 gearbox. The RX3 was only
on low Boost this time out so expect
the guys to run a lot quicker yet.

A new clip from Red Bull sees Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel explain
the 2014 Formula One regulations -- which are arguably the most complex the
sport has ever seen.
At the start, thousands of car parts simultaneously assemble around Dan to
form the RB10.
As Dan races to catch up Seb in his RB9, the World Champion's car becomes
transparent while travelling at full speed. The film then presents a visual
sequence that shows the 2014 regulation changes taking shape and coming to
life, as Seb's car transforms into an RB10.
As well as providing information on the new technical changes for 2014, the
clip also presents a unique view of the technology at work inside this
year's Formula One cars.

50psi boost 1200+hp Nissan RB30 - Ethanol E98
Nissan RB30 SOHC 3L engine built and tuned by JPC making over 1200hp on
Ethanol fuel. The engine still retains a factory block and crank.
Improvements come from a custom JPC turbocharger, manifolding, roller rockers and cam
gear. Fuel is fed via ID2000cc injectors and an Autronic computer system.
This engine has previously run 8.79 at 160.25mph (with less power) in a
full weight (3250lb) Holden VL commodore through stock suspension,
Powerglide transmission, 9in rear end and 28x9in slicks.

370Z track car. They called it Project 370Z. To put it to the test, Nissan
fans were asked to vote for a challenger to compete against it. They chose
a 1970 Datsun 240Z with an RB26 engine transplant built by Gordon MacSwain.

Bill's Nissan was out once again at Calder Park but this time out the guys
were chasing an ignition gremlin. The S15 has gone as fast as 140mph from
this drift & drag Silvia SR20 turbo.
VK Calais 355 turbo V8 Holden
Matt's 8-second BLN355 Calais has recently undergone a few changes
including the switch to a larger Borg Warner 80mm turbocharger. Matt was at Heathcote Raceway on
Sunday to give the VK a few shake down runs.

owns this insane Holden HSV witha 727ci motor in it! The car was being
broken in so it wasn't at full power... and as you'll notice, the way these

Plenty of theories about how to best install a rope rear main oil seal in
the Holden V8 block from the HJ model years through to the last ones
produced in the VT Commodores. We've found this to be the most fool proof
procedure. A bit long winded perhaps, but if you do it this way your rear
main seal will not leak.
