2012 Volvo C30 Polestar Performance Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/volvo/c30/2012/ The 2012 Volvo C30 coupe is a lot of fun to drive. Volvo is known for being one of the world's safest car manufacturer. Most of their line-up consists of sedans and crossover utility vehicles and the C30 is the only coupe in their line-up of vehicles. The 2012 Volvo C30 has a base price of $24,950 with the top of the line R-Design Platinum costing $31,850. But you can add a factory performance upgrade called the Polestar package for under $2000 that will Boost performance significantly.
Volvo did not hold back when it came to powering the C30. Under the hood live a turbocharged 2.5 liter inline 5-cylinder engine that makes 227 horsepower and 236 lb-ft. of torque. Transmission options are a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic. Fuel economy is pretty good for a high performance engine as the 2012 Volvo C30 nets 21 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. The vehicle featured in this car review video has the $1295 Polestar Performance Package equipped. This package is essential an engine tuner software that adds 23 HP and 37 lb-ft. of torque without sacrificing fuel economy. Also the Polestar Package will not void the factory warranty.
From a styling stand-point the 2012 Volvo C30 really stands apart from the crowd. This coupe appeals to a broad range of car buyers: men and women both young and old. When you opt for the 6-speed manual transmission the fun factor really goes through the roof. On the inside the interior has a very simple Scandinavian look and feel to it. You can even opt for a 650 watt premium sound system. The Volvo C30 is packed with tons of safety features like Dynamic Stability Control, Traction Control, and a Whiplash Protection System. In fact the 2012 Volvo C30 was named a Top Safety Pick for 2012 by the IIHS.

2012 Volvo XC70 Station Wagon Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/volvo/xc70/2012/ Volvo has been making station wagons for decades. The 2012 Volvo XC70 is the latest in a great line-up of safe vehicles. The XC stands for cross-country meaning this station wagon has all-wheel drive and can go practically anywhere and do anything. The great thing about the 2012 Volvo XC70 is that from the rear seats forward it is essentially a sedan offering you tons of comfort and luxury. But the wagon style rear gives you tons of cargo room. In fact the XC70 offers 72 cubic feet of cargo room. The base price for the 2012 Volvo XC70 is $32,950 with the T6 Platinum AWD model going for $43,650.
There are 2 different engines choices available on the 2012 Volvo XC70. The first is a 3.2 liter inline 6-cylinder that produces 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy for this engine is 19 MPG in the city and 25 MPG on the highway. The other engine choice is a more powerful turbocharged 3.0 liter 6-cylinder that makes 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is a bit lower at 17 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway. But the increase in horsepower is well worth it.
When it comes to safety the XC70 is packed with the latest and greatest technology from Volvo. There are a myriad of airbags on the XC70 including side impact airbags for the driver and front passenger as well as inflatable curtain airbags for the rear occupants. A Whiplash Protection System is built into the seats as are seatbelt pre-tensioners. The 2012 Volvo XC70 comes equipped with ABS and an Emergency Brake Assist System. The Dynamic Stability Control and Traction Control Systems work to keep the XC70 safely planted. When off-roading the Hill Descent Control system helps to keep the vehicle under control. The XC70 feature high ground clearance for a station wagon and most models come standard with AWD although you can opt for the FWD only system too.

2012 Volvo S60 Test Drive & Luxury Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/volvo/s60/2012/ The 2012 Volvo S60 has the most powerful engine Volvo has ever had in a sedan. The turbocharged 3.0 liter inline-6 produces 325 horsepower and 354 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy for this engine is 18 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. There is also a smaller less powerful 2.5 liter 5-cylinder that makes 250 horsepower and 256 lb-ft of torque. Less power and a smaller engine means better fuel economy and the 2.5 liter gets 20 MPG in the city and 30 MPG on the highway. Prices range from $31,150 to $42,950.
From a design standpoint Volvo has really stepped up their game. The 2012 Volvo S60 has everything in its arsenal to compete with other entry level luxury sedans. There are a bunch of great safety features that come standard on the S60. On the inside the Volvo keeps it simple and comfortable. But it's the monster engine that is the best part of the new 2012 S60 luxury sedan.

2012 Mitsubishi Lancer Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/mitsubishi/lancer/2012/ What's so great about the 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer? Well first off this car has the same aggressive look and stance as its more expensive older brother; the Evolution. The Lancer also has a base price of under $16,000. Next the Lancer gets excellent fuel economy. Another cool thing about this car is you can opt for Mitsubishi's famous AWD system.
So the base model 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer is powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that makes 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft. of torque. This is also the engine that gets 25 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway. The mid-level GT model has a larger 2.4 liter engine that makes 168 horsepower and 167 lb-ft. of torque. This car costs a bit more and get slightly less fuel economy figures. But the GT does come loaded with a ton of great features and options.
The real shining star of the line-up is the Lancer Ralliart AWD edition. This car features a wagon design called the Sportback. Besides looking ultra cool, the Ralliart features a turbocharged power plant and paddle shifters. The engine is basically the same turbocharged MIVEC motor as the Evo just detuned a bit. There is still plenty of power as the Lancer Ralliart produces 237 horsepower and 253 lb-ft. of torque.

2012 Nissan 370Z Test Drive & Car Review
http://www.autobytel.com/nissan/370z/2012/ The Nissan Z Car has been around since the early 1970's under the Datsun name. For year the Z has been one of the most beloved affordable sports cars both here in the United States and in Japan as well. The 2012 Nissan 370Z is considered the Mustang of Japan since the drive train configuration, price, and body style is similar to that of many American muscle cars. The 2012 Nissan 370Z has a base price of $31,910 with the top of the line Touring Roadster costing over $44,000.
The 2012 Nissan 370Z is powered by one of the best engines every produced by Nissan. The VQ37VHR is a 3.7 liter V-6 engine with Variable Valve Timing that produces 332 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque. A 6-speed manual or 7-speed automatic transmission puts the power down to the rear wheels. The 2012 Nissan 370Z can achieve up to 19 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway.
The 370Z is considered to be the little brother of the mighty Nissan GT-R. It is smaller, costs less, and does not have as much power. That being said the 2012 Nissan 370Z does benefit from having the GT-R as an older brother in that some of the high end technology and options have been passed down to the 370Z. The first thing you notice are the huge 19-inch RAYS sport rims. These forged alloy wheels are not only strong but they are also lightweight. The 370Z also sports a sleek body with functional spoilers both front and rear. In the performance department the 2012 Nissan 370Z has a viscous limited-slip differential which makes sure power is transferred to the wheel that needs it the most. Also the Nissan 370Z features a SynchroRev Match system which automatically blips the throttle to promote faster and smoother shifting between gears.
The 2012 Nissan 370Z is an excellent sports car. It may be a little rough around the edges and a little on the pricey side, but if you want a true Japanese sports car with over 300 horsepower and rear-wheel drive, then the 370Z is an excellent choice.

Auction Report: 2011 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design Walkaround and Review
Senior Editor Christian Rosario takes us on a tour of this beautiful 2011 Volvo Hatchback with the undercover auction cam!
"The 2011 Volvo C30 isn't your typical "hot hatch." Sure, it's got a powerful turbocharged engine and an available sport-tuned suspension, but this Swede is about a lot more than just speed. Don't get us wrong -- the C30 actually drives nicely and has more dynamic capabilities than most drivers will care to exploit. But with its chic interior and a classic hatchback design that evokes Volvos of yore, the C30 is also the closest thing in this segment to automotive art." (Edmunds.com)

2013 Infiniti G37 vs Audi S5 vs Volvo S60 0-60 MPH Mile High Mashup Review
( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The brand new 2013 Infiniti G37x, the Audi S5 Quattro and the Volvo S60 T5 AWD all have just thing in common; they are all-wheel-drive cars. But perhaps more importantly these three car represent three very different ways to achieve power. The new Infiniti G37x is normally aspirated, while the Volvo S60 T5 is turbocharged and the Audi S5 Quattro is supercharged. So of course we were curious which of these three cars is faster to 60 MPH @ 1 mile above sea level. In the process of testing all three cars from 0-60 MPH we also wanted to find out just how much a driver can really influence a cars performance so Roman and Nathan decided to have a small contest to see who's faster. Is it Roman or Nathan or perhaps Andre the Russian mechanic. Find in another fun TFLcar Mashup Review.
New Volvos Intense Driving Tests
Hällered, a fenced-in 7 million m² area an hour away from Gothenburg, Sweden, is Volvo Cars main testing facility. The track stretches 26 km, consisting of 15 different test tracks designed to simulate every type of road surface and weather condition a car can be subjected to during its long life time, including a fully-equipped public highway within the area. The tests are carefully planned and computer monitored. In just a few months, cars are aged as much as during the entire anticipated lifetime of the vehicles in normal traffic, thanks to test drivers working around the clock. The car's active safety system is also tested at the facility. A special rig has been developed just to test the Pedestrian Detection system that should detect pedestrians and apply the brakes if the driver does not react in time.

Mercedes-Benz C350 Coupe vs. Volvo C30 T5 'Polestar Conversion'
They may be unlikely competitors, but that doesn't mean this isn't an interesting battle. The Mercedes-Benz C350 Coupe and the Volvo C30 T5 R-Design are the sportiest models available from their respective manufacturers (Monster AMG models not withstanding of course), but they both err on the side of sophistication, and studiously avoid, the boy racer tag. They are stylish, elegant and in the case of the Mercedes-Benz Coupe, downright expensive. The Volvo C30 T5 less so, taking into account its advancing age, but still factoring in its newly available 'Polestar Conversion' that Boosts power up to 184kW & 370Nm. We like the Volvo C30, always have, and that's why we're sitting it such a stiff challenge; putting it up against the rear wheel drive Mercedes-Benz with 224kW & 370Nm. The C350 Coupe also sports some clever new suspension technology called 'agility control,' that increases the damping pressure based on your driving to keep it level and true at any speed, in any corner. Yes, we know the Mercedes-Benz is twice the price of the Volvo, but hopefully the modified C30 T5 'Polestar Conversion' can upset the outcome... Last one up the hill is a rotten egg.
