Also something to note around Mighty Car Mods: we are normal guys and are
not trained mechanics. We like to make interesting car mods and show you
how we've gone about it, but we can't promise that anything we show you
will work for your particular car, or that you won't harm yourself, someone
else, your car or your warranty doing it. Please be safe, be responsible
and unless you know what you're doing, do not fool around with very serious
machinery just because you've seen us make it look so easy. Talk to a
qualified mechanic if you are in any doubt.
My GT35R RX-7 sounds sexy ran hard
I finally took my 1993 Mazda RX-7 out. Over winter I gutted the entire
engine bay etc. I installed a GT35R single turbo. The car is insane. Listen as I Boost to 10.5PSI.
It does NOT have a Blow Off Valve installed :-p
7500rpm on my single turbo RX-7
Flame away. I totally misshift my first pull. The second pull I hit the
overly rich area in my map. I can't give it full throttle. lol. Then the
good pulls. Enjoy
26 PSI RX-7 GT35R Single Turbo
Ever wonder what happens if you hit fuel cut at 26 PSI on a turbo RX-7? Watch me do it on accident while
For those wondering, I had the ECU set to 20 PSI expectation and wastegate
to 26 PSI. ECU will go 3.5 PSI over its limits before it cuts the fuel.
Small logical error can make a huge difference.
I got lucky. I attribute a large part of that to the pre turbo water injection keeping my knock low and
combustion temps low while tuning.
