2007 Honda Civic Si hard to shift into third gear
(No longer) my 2007 Honda Civic Si sedan has been hard to shift into third gear since it was new, 25K miles ago.
[edit] I sold the car in December 2011 with 60K miles on it.
Get this: I originally purchased it for $19,900. The dealership listed it at $19,985.

The dealership has seen this demonstrated on one occasion (in many visits) but cannot or will not perform the fix to this known problem documented as TSB 08-020 without causing it themselves.
This video was taken 10-25-2009, and shows four of these cases of hard shifting. In all cases, the clutch is fully depressed, and when I attempted to move the shift lever into gear, it met with an apparent detent perhaps half an inch from actually getting into gear.
On occasion, this can lead to releasing the clutch in belief the car is actually in gear. That, I believe, is the cause of the 'popping out of gear' part of the TSB. It can also lead to very unpleasant sounds from the transmission.
I took this video in hope that I will be able to show it to the regional Honda representative, and they will allow the dealership to perform the TSB without their actually experiencing it as the driver. Again, it's a known problem with these vehicles, and a tech has seen it happen and acknowledged it while I was driving, but it's still not allowed.
Beyond this highly frustrating problem, BTW, the car has been wonderful, and I would highly recommend one to anyone interested in a sporty compact car that really does it all.
To all the brilliant folks who like to say "learn how to shift", my point is that WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED, the shift lever hits strong resistance. I've come to the conclusion that this is masked to some extent by a recent MTF fluid change, but that shouldn't require changing along with every oil change.
