The Unfortunate History of the AMC Pacer
Behind all the jokes and insults, the AMC Pacer is actually a car with a
great deal of history. It began as radical new design from an underdog
company. In an attempt to combat the big, bland, boxy cars from Detroit's
"Big Three," little American Motors Corporation decided to build something
a little different. Their one-eyed car stylist Dick Teague proposed a
small, wide car with big windows and smooth areodynamics. Americans had
never seen anything like it.
This in-depth documentary tells the true story of the Pacer. Unbeknownst
to many, the car persevered through manufacturing setbacks, government
regulations, and many other troubles. Featuring a ton of old car
advertisements and rare footage of AMC's factory, the film helps paint a
picture of the Pacer's world. Director Joe Ligo sits down with AMC stylist
Vincent Geraci, author Patrick Foster, and television personalities John
Davis and Pat Goss from PBS's MotorWeek.

Canada and Mexico by the American Motors Corporation (AMC) and Vehículos
The Gremlin was an economy car by 1970s U.S. standards. It served as a

79 AMC Concord DL Sedan 258 Straight 6 Start Up & Test Drive VAM American
Classic Car Review http://www.1OwnerCarGuy.com This is a very nice 79 AMC.
This car shows 40K on the odometer and it is really easy to believe the
miles. The car has the Straight 6 258 engine which is a nice torque engine
and gets good gas mileage. The car fires right up and runs, drives, and
shifts great. It looks to be all original on the paint and the paint is
very nice with a nice shine to it. It has a vinyl half top but it was bad
so I took it off and painted it. This car has a lot of chrome on it and it
really looks nice. It has all the factory wheel covers and is completely
factory. The interior is very nice and shows very little wear. Someone
really took care of this car over the years. It has a lot of the options
the upgraded models came with. You will be hard pressed to find a nice one.

AMC 1980 AMX Spirit restoration
This is my 1980 AMC Spirit AMX. I finished restoring this car in July of
2002. This car has new paint,interior,transmission,3:73 rear and a built up
360 AMC engine producing close to 400 hp. I sold this car to finish my 86
Corvette. I miss it very much. This car had the Exhaust turned down towards the ground. It
sounded real bassy like rolling thunder. This car was super fast. I took it
to the 100th Rambler anniversary in Kenosha, WI in July 2002. With Group 19
AMC club. We also took it to Long Island, New York one summer, and I
cruised my old neighborhood. Its sad to say that I sold it to a young man
and the car is getting abused. I saw some chips and scratches on it. AMC
made awesome engines.
Turbocharged LS V8 AMC Gremlin visits LV Cars and Coffee
First time we heard about Lehigh Valley Cars and Coffee, so we decided to
take a trip down. First the drag radials rubbed, so we put more air in the
air shocks. Then the air shocks exploded, so we put the small tires back
on. We eventually made it and ruined the atmosphere of the meet.

Tucker #1038 at the 2008 TACA Convention in Ypsilanti, MI
This is a brief video of Tucker #1038 being driven at the 2008 Tucker
Automobile Club of America, Inc. convention in Ypsilanti, MI (the location
of Tucker creator Preston Tucker's Home and the site of the construction of
the prototype "Tin Goose"). This also features TACA member Kit Fox's ride
in the car that he won in the TACA auction before the car is due to be sold
by RM Auctions in August 2008.
The Tucker was built in Chicago in 1948 by Preston Tucker. Only 51 cars
were produced including the 1947 prototype "the Tin Goose" before Tucker
was forced to cease production after being sued on charges of fraud.
Preston Tucker won the trial, but production never resumed. Of the original
51 produced plus car #1051 assembled after the trial, 47 cars still exist.
