erhöhten Bodenfreiheit eine robust gestaltete Front- und Heckpartie. Wir
testen den A6 als 3.0TDI-Version mit 240 PS und den Volvo als D5 mit 205

A Driving mistake, First of all, never ever step on that Brake Pedal when
driving on the fine/soft sand :)Make sure that you use WORN tires why?
Because you want to stay on top sand not dig in, Always keep that
momentum. Once you are stuck if you press on the gas pedal more, you're
just digging yourself into the sand, You should also lower the tire
pressure, apperantly we DIDN'T do any of the above and below
recommaditions, BTW also do not let your wife drive on the sand as I did ,
I had playing with the car on sand at least 20 minutes without any problems
until I let my wife drive :))))))

Like any major road trip, it is always a good idea to put your car in for a
routine health check. The first thing that you must do before driving on
sand is decrease your tyre pressure. The reason you do this is to provide
better flotation by increasing the size of your car's "footprint" as this
will significantly improve your traction. It will also cut down the amount
of strain on your vehicle as well as wear and tear on the tracks. If you
don't know what would be the optimal pressure for your car, generally a
good pressure to set it at is 15 psi. Obviously you must pump your tyres
back up when you plan on taking the car back onto the road, so make sure
you have a pressure gauge and a means of pumping your tyres back up with
If there are tyre tracks already on the sand from a previous vehicle, try
to stay on their tracks as it creates a better surface to drive on. You
must also try to avoid rapid changes in speed. Over-accelerating can
actually lead to going slower and over-braking could lead to you getting
bogged. If possible, try to coast to a stop rather than braking.
Take-off should be done as smoothly as possible with all wheels facing
forward and gear changes made at fairly high revs. When turning, try to
turn as wide as possible to decrease the chance of getting bogged down.
When driving up or down steep sand dunes, make sure you go straight —
even a slight angle will cause problems. Also, if you start to slip down a
dune it is best to accelerate to straighten and not use the brake. If you
are going up a sand dune and can't reach the top, put the car into reverse
and drive backwards to the bottom. Don't coast back down, and definitely
don't try to do a U-turn. If you do happen to get bogged down, resist the
urge to jump on the accelerator, as this will only make things worse. You
should attempt to slowly reverse away from the position. If that doesn't
work, let your tyres down a bit more and try again.
When you get home, hose down the car, particularly underneath, to remove
the salt and sand which can get trapped.

Audi A4 Allroad vs. VW Passat Alltrack OFFROAD
In October 2010 Volkswagen presented at the 2010 Tokyo Motor Show the
Passat Alltrack. The Passat Alltrack bridges the gap between the passenger
VW range and the SUV range comprising the Tiguan and Touareg.
The Passat Alltrack has raised ground clearance from 135 to 165 mm which
improves approach angle from 13.5 to 16 degrees, departure angle from 11.9
to 13.6 degrees and ramp angle from 9.5 to 12.8 degrees when compared to
the standard Passat wagon. Passat Alltrack is the only VW in the passenger
range to offer 4Motion with off road driving programme, the off road system
works in conjunction with the ABS, electronic differential lock (EDL), DSG
& hill descent assist system to control the vehicle in an off road
The engine range of the Passat Alltrack consists of two 2.0L TDI with
outputs of 103 kW/140 hp & 125 kW/170 hp and two petrol engines, 1.8L
producing 118 kW/160 hp and 2.0L TSI producing 155 kW/207 hp. The TDI
models come standard with BlueMotion Technology packages with Stop/Start
system and battery regeneration mode for recovering braking energy. The two
lesser powered engine variants 2.0L TDI and 1.8L TSI are only available in
front wheel drive format with a manual 6 speed transmission. The rest of
the range with 4Motion has a 6 speed DSG automated manual transmission,
except the 2.0L TDI with 103 kW/140 hp has an option of 6 speed manual.
In 2012 at the New York Auto Show, VW showed a Passat Alltrack with 2.0L
TDI 125 kW/170 hp under Alltrack Concept nameplate to gauge response for a
future market in the offroad wagon segment.
Audi released the first official pictures of the B8 series A4 in August
2007, and unveiled the car to the public at the September 2007 Frankfurt
Motor Show. Saloon/sedan and Avant (estate/wagon) models are offered. The
Avant was unveiled to the public at the March 2008 Geneva Motor Show.
The B8 A4 is built on a variant of the Audi Modular Longitudinal Platform,
a platform which is also used in the Audi A5 coupé. Whilst prior A4
chassis were limited in wheelbase due to the relationship between the
engine, transmission and front axle, the MLP allows for a reduced front
overhang, resulting in a greater wheelbase length without the same increase
in overall length. This effectively redistributes the centre of gravity
slightly rearwards, improving handling by better balancing vehicle mass
between the front and rear axles. The estimated static front:rear weight
ratio of the B8 A4 is approximately 55:45, depending on body style and
engine. The relocation of the steering rack in front of the axle also
improves handling over previous A4 platforms.
The B8 A4 has increased in wheelbase by 160 millimetres (6.3 in) and in
length by 117 millimetres (4.6 in) over the prior B7, which has allowed for
increased rear seating legroom. Although the overall dimensions have
increased, the kerb weight has dropped some 10%. The boot (trunk) has also
increased to 480 litres (17.0 cu ft) for the saloon (sedan) version. The A4
Avant will have a maximum capacity of 1,430 L (50.5 cu ft) with the rear
seats folded down.
Reception has been mixed, with praise for the Audi A4's increased size,
giving it best-in-class rear legroom and trunk space in the compact
executive car segment. Its inline-4 2.0 TFSI engine, while efficient
providing plenty of torque, was considered lacking and less refined
compared to 6-cylinder engines of lighter rivals who posted faster acceleration times. However, the Audi
S4 sports sedan has been well-received for its V6 3.0 TFSI engine's power
