Mazda 787B Startup - Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011
Warming up in the Cathederal Paddock on Sunday morning 3rd July 2011. Loud? I've stood next to plenty of F1 cars and this was certtainly no quieter. Although it has only a 9000rpm max engine speed, with 12 combustion cycles PER REVOLUTION (unlike a 4 stroke V12 whihc would only have 6) this car produces 108,000 combustion cycles per minute. That is 36,000 more than a current 2.4l F1 car at 18000rpm! This is the only real running 787B, there is however a second car which sports the same detailing (even down to Le Mans 1991 driver names) which is in much better (less faded, and less battle scars) whihc is used as a PR car. This car was a static display on the Mazda Cars UK stand also at Goodwood that day. Enjoy!

Listen great sounds! 2011.12.11 岡山国際サーキットでのマツダファン・サーキットトラ イアルでのマツダ787Bルマン優勝車 55号車。走行前メンテナンス、ウォーミングアップ(暖気 )、試走、デモランの様子を収めています。 当日のドライバー片山義美氏のトークショーからもほん の一言だけ収録。世界GPを戦った二輪レーサーであり、 輪でもロータリーエンジンの開発及びレーシングドラ バーとしてマツダで打倒日産GT-Rを掲げて活躍されてい た当時のお話も聞くことができました。片山氏の運転は 機関に負担が掛からないとてもスムーズなものだそうで (音で片山氏と分かるほど?)、現在もマツダの開発に携 っておられるそうで裏話も聞けました。 ウォーミングアップ中のサウンドはもちろん、岡山国際 サーキットを走行中に周囲にこだまする4ローターサウ ドはとても官能的で素晴らしく心地よいものでした。

【速報】2011/12/11 岡山国際サーキットにてデモラン開 \(^o^)/ http://www.okayama-international-circuit.jp/hashiru/event/event.html#mazda ルマン国産初優勝の車が再び夢舞台へ 2011年5月20日 19:58 20年前、世界を制したレーシングカーが再び、ルマン の地を走ります。世界最高峰の自動車耐久レース、ルマ ン24時間レースを日本車として初めて優勝した車が、 今年の大会のデモンストレーションとして走ることにな り美祢市で最後の調整をしました。ロータリーエンジン を搭載した「マツダ787B」がルマンでの走行を前に 報道公開されました。787Bは1991年、フランス で年に1度開かれるルマン24時間レースを日本車とし て初めて優勝しました。今回、レース前のデモンストレ ーションで、その走りを見せてほしいと主催者から声が かかりました。スタッフは大がかりな整備をして当時の 走りをよみがえらせました。1991年に同車種でルマ ン総合8位になったレーサーの寺田陽次郎さんは「20 年前に見た人は音とともに夢が戻ってくるような車」と 話していました。当時を知る3人がテストドライバーを 務めました。車のデザインは変わっていませんがひとつ だけ増えたものがあります。車体に貼られた『がんばろ う日本』のステッカーです。来月11日の本番を前に2 7日、出発します。
