Bloodhound SSC 1000 mph rocket car, land speed record attempt
Equinox Graphics is proud to present the visualisation of Bloodhound SSC,
the trans-sonic rocket car aiming to smash the current land speed record
and raise it to a mind-bending 1000 mph (Mach 1.4). The car is being
designed and built in Britain, and Equinox Graphics has had the privilege
of working in association with the design team to bring the car to life.
The minute-long viral video was produced on time and at High Definition
(1920x1080, 25fps, full GI/radiosity) in just three weeks - including
rendering time on our computer cluster.
The animation has proved extremely popular with the world's media, and has
proved to be the ideal medium for engaging the public's imagination. It has
so far been featured on BBC news (TV and online), and on stations as
diverse as CNN and Al Jazeera.

The Spectre SpeedLiner sets a new land speed record in the Spectre
Performance SpeedLiner with Amir Rosenbaum at the wheel. The hpR Filter
equipped, twin turbo Cadillac (by Cad
Company) powered streamliner went 344mph at the exit and set an A/BGS
record of 324mph (the old record was 286mph)

Rider Scott Horner and team Horner/Thompson set two records for unfaired
They bumped the existing record in the 1350cc M-BF class from 186.574 mph
to 205.589 mph two way average and the 1350cc M-BG from a 195.271 mph
record to 209.793 mph two way average.
The 209 record earned Scott a place in history with induction into the
prestigious Bonneville 200 MPH Club.
The 205 mph record still stands, the 209 record was exceeded later in the
Scott reached a top average speed of 213.373 mph during the event with a
peak of 216 on GPS. He gave much credit to the APEX Speed Technology ECU
for a solid week of thrashing his bike with no issues. APEX also supplied

In July, Scott entered the El Mirage 200 MPH Club when he bumped a record
of 202.107 set in 1999 to 206.761 mph. Scott became only the 18th person
in the history of Land Speed Racing ANYWHERE to set a record in excess of

Thrust SSC | SSC | Thrust SSC : Breaking The Sound Barrier
A Short Video of the Thrust SSC. Thrust SSC broke the sound barrier back in
October 15, 1997. It achieved a speed of 1,228 km/h (763 mph) and the SSC
became the first land vehicle to officially break the sound barrier. Thrust
SSC also has the the manned land speed record under its belt and has not
been beaten to this day.
The twin engines developed a thrust of 223 kN (50,000 lbf) and burned
around 4 Imperial gallons per second (18.2 l/s or 4.8 US gallons/s).
