2017 Nissan 370Z Nismo UNBOXING Review - Is This A Corvette Stingray Fighter?
For today's unboxing review we bring you the 2017 Nissan 370Z Nismo, one of our favorite sports cars on the market today. In fact, it's sort of quickly becoming fairly old school, partly because it first launched back in 2009. Heck, even its engine isn't exactly state-of-the-art; a 3.7-liter V6 with 350 hp and 276 lb-ft of torque, with power being sent to the rear wheels through either a standard six-speed manual or an optional seven-speed automatic with paddle shifters. Our advice: stick with the stick. And yes, the V6 is naturally aspirated, something that's quickly becoming more of a rarity these days. From the outside, and thanks to a number of Nimso exclusive features, this Magnetic Black coupe hits all of the right buttons. Step inside, however, and those buttons look awfully dated. The entire dashboard looks like it was designed nearly a decade ago. That's because it was. But the big question we have is how much longer the 370Z Nismo will be around. Chances are it's time is limited. Enjoy the review! *TImestamps* Introduction: 0:15 What's Nismo: 1:00 Engine start up: 1:20 Engine and transmission details: 2:00 How is this a Nismo?: 2:25 The next Z-car?: 3:15 Performance and fuel economy: 5:00 Interior details: 6:25 How many buyers want the Nismo?: 8:35 Pricing and competition: 8:45 For Z-Car fans: 10:40 What don't we like: 12:30 Call it a Ricer: 13:35 Conclusion: 13:55 Special thanks to DGDG in San Jose, California for letting us shoot the car. http://www.dgdg.com Vehicles in this review were provided by DGDG, the family owned automotive group in Northern California. 2009 Nissan 370Z vs. 2008 BMW 135i | Can Nissan Beat BMW? | Edmunds.com
SEE THE FULL COMPARISON: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/ What comes after Z?, we wondered when Nissan let the stage go black in 1996 and officially bid farewell to the Z-car at an event at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Sales of the twin-turbo 300ZX had been declining as fast as applications for library cards, so Nissan simply stopped selling the car in the U.S. It made us wonder where the Z fit in Nissan's future. The answer came in 2002, when the Nissan 350Z appeared, a serious sports car that seemed to measure itself against the Corvette in both speed and style. It brought people back to Nissan, but lots of the young enthusiasts didn't know what an icon the Z had been for the company since its inception in 1970. With the 2009 Nissan 370Z, all that changes. As a Z should be, the 370Z is a statement of purpose, not just another car on the showroom floor. With this second-generation version of the revitalized Z, the car has moved on from affordable performance to something that brings new descriptions into play - not only like quick, fast, strong and powerful, but also gorgeous, luxurious, nimble, graceful, delicate and smooth. This is a car so good that it makes you wonder what kind of car it is: a sports car, a sport coupe or a muscle-bound pony car? And that's where the 2008 BMW 135i comes in, a pocket-size BMW M3 with an affordable price tag to match.
