BTA Motorsports 1000hp 'Monster' Ford F6 turbo

Just how far can you push the tried and proven Ford straight six? This is what we try to find out with our project "Monster" F6. The goal? A 1000hp engine in a street package. The result? 1300hp+ from the engine with 992.8hp at the rear wheels. Australia's Quickest BA XR6 Turbo
Phil Chain's XR6 turbo currently holds the record with an 8.4 at 166mph, but the boys had some problems getting it down the track at Jamboree and only (??) managed a couple of 9.1sec runs at over 160mph. It's a beast of a thing with a massive GT47R turbo. How soon until we see a 7sec pass from an XR6 turbo is Australia?

FAST Ford: 8-second street car
Regarded as one of the best performance sedans ever sold in Australia, the Ford Performance Vehicles or FPV F6, was essentially a factory upgraded Ford XR6 out of the box. Making 420hp and peak torque at a touch under 2000rpm, the turbocharged 4L six cylinder provided fantastic acceleration. Nem's 2008 example shown here is nothing short of remarkable. In stock trim the car ran 12.34 at 115mph. Over the past 5 years the times have tumbled to the point where this street car is simply too fast for the track, making over 1100hp to the tyres on north of 40 pounds of Boost. Impressively the F6 still retains an OEM 6spd auto and IRS suspension. Nem's recently drove the car to Calder Park but due to not holding a current ANDRA safety ticket, the Ford was only able to perform one pass, but he sure made it count. 2008 FPV F6 turbo Ford Barra 4L turbo six engine Rebuilt engine by owner, Mark Dino and Quickbitz Factory cylinder head and cams, valve springs only Manley pistons and conrods Precision 8285 turbocharger @ 40+psi Boost ETM Exhaust manifold, stock intake manifold Quickbitz fuel system (pump E85) AMS 1000 Boost control supplied & fitted by Quickbitz Nizpro stage 3 ZF 6spd auto transmission, Circle D stall converter Factory IRS rear end, Driveshaft shop 1400hp axles M&H 275/50/17 street radials Power: 857kW / 1150hp @ Quickbitz hub Dyno Best ET: 8.902 157.89 pump E85 fuel at Calder Park, Australia Race weight: 1909kg / 4220Ib Driven to and from the track Special thanks to: Mark Dino for all your help, Nizpro, Quickbitz, Bluestreak Performance, Custom Engines Melbourne, PSIDUP Motorsport, Poolwerx Glen Waverley & Burwood http://www.quickbitz.com.au http://www.nizpro.com.au http://www.fullBoost.com.au Get your track gear! http://shop.fullBoost.com.au Follow us on social media @ Google+ https://plus.google.com/+fullBoost Facebook http://www.facebook.com/fullBoostcomau YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/fullBoostcomau Twitter https://twitter.com/fullBoostcomau Instagram http://instagram.com/fullBoostcomau COPYRIGHT WARNING: The above video is copyrighted © to FullBoost You do not have permission to download it and re-upload it anywhere in any form.
