Caterham Roadsport Race Car & Radical SR4 - Bedford Autodrome GP Track Day
Me in our Caterham Roadsport B road legal ex. race car against a friend in a Radical SR4 around Bedford Autodrome GP Circuit track day. Recorded with an onboard 4Kam Bullet Camera. Radical was a lot quicker, especially in the corners with the great track setup and slick tyres, but he was kind enough to let me through a few times. Slight off around the middle of the video, making the textbook error of trying to follow the person in front and end up braking too late and on the grass! Specs: Caterham - 120bhp, 530kg + 2 people, Avon CR500 Tyres. 230bhp per tonne. Radical - 190bhp, 450kg + 1 person, Slick Tyres. 430bhp per tonne!





Radical RXC: The World's Most Extreme Street Legal Coupe - XCAR
Subscribe to XCAR: http://www.youtube.com/user/XCARFilms Radical can hardly be considered sane at the best of times, but with the RXC they've taken their name quite literally and gone a few thousand steps further than ever before. Known for putting Superbike engines in light chassis to create a killer track car combination (The SR3 being their flagship model), with the RXC this is the first car they've designed from the ground up to be both for the road and track. They've dubbed it the 'world's most extreme road-legal coupe'. It's hard to argue with that. Powered by a 3.7 litre V6 Ford engine found in the new Mustang, it produces 380 bhp with 320lb ft of torque. Unlike the new Mustang, however, it weighs only 900kg, meaning it has 422bhp per ton. It's also capable of producing up to 900kg of downforce, the same as the cars weight. Again - road legal. Did we mention that already? As unbelievable as all this may be, Radical's LMP1 inspired car has finished its track development and just begun testing on the road, and XCAR were lucky enough to be the first ever to see the RXC take its first journey. We witnessed it in action on country lanes, A roads and saw the reaction it got filling up at a service station. We even managed to eat a service station sandwich inside it, most probably another world first. Needless to say, we were awestruck by the presence of the thing. The noise, the speed, the looks. It's certainly striking, and with the promise of it being a progressive handling driver's car in the same vein as the SR3, we can't wait until its finished and we can test it on the road and track.
