Driving the 1973 three-on-the-tree Valiant
It keeps your arms and feet busy but it's fun to drive. Low gear is
non-synchronized, so you have to come to almost a complete stop before
shifting down to first.
Manual steering, manual brakes, 225 Slant six, 3-speed manual trans, no air
conditioning. Carts like this were widely used by phone companies and the
like back in the day.
Cold Start the 1968 Plymouth Valiant! Crank it...
Hi! Gonna cold start this 1968 Plymouth Valiant! My friend Agent 0826
bought this sweet old Valiant last summer and he loves driving it. He
parked it for the winter, so we thought we'd come out and start it up after
it had been sitting, drifted in deep snow and cold for months...

1960 Plymouth Valiant 4 door sedan
Detroit was getting worried! That pesky VW bug was selling well..and it
didn't appear to be just a fad..and Detroit was not good at making low cost
vehicles profitably! Enter the compacts of 1960...Corvair, Falcon and
Valiant. Rambler was already successful in the field. The Valiant had an
amazing slant 6 ohv engine that had tremendous torque because of its long
stroke. The pushbutton Torqueflite gave the impression of an upscale
little car. It had nice extras like an alternator, while the competition
had generators. The most controversial thing about the car was the unusual
"European" styling, epitomized by the stylized spare on the decklid. The
actual spare resided in a compartment in the trunk floor. The following
year, Dodge introduced a spinoff of this car, the Lancer!
