2010 Harley Davidson Sportster 48 walk around and review
Check it out, just got the new Sportster 48 from Folsom HD. This thing is sick, considered the Nightster for a full year, but after seeing this, I just had to pull the trigger. The fat front tire is awesome and it rolls into turns nicely. I'll have to do less upgrades to get it the way I like it. I still really dig the Nightster and all the great mods Ive seen on youtube. First mod I have coming is new pipes, probably the Vance and Hines short shots in black of course. Maybe a Licks solo bag, change out the rubber pegs, and smoked lenses soon. Enjoy. Sorry the camera mic blows out from the wind. But basic idea is you can hear the bike still even at speed when the camera is on the opposite side of where the pipes are located. In my opinion it makes you a little more visible to cars if they can hear you.

I just finished my sportster 48. We did some motor work and made it really fast. A good / bad idea when you have a hand shift bike. Its a ton of fun I took it for a blast around the city of Chicago this fine summer night.

MILWAUKEE (July 27, 2010). Key features of the 2011 XL883L SuperLow include:
• An air-cooled Evolution® 883cc V-Twin engine with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), rated at 52 ft.lbs (70Nm) of torque at 3750rpm, has a broad powerband for easy get-away from a stop and smooth power out of corners.
• The 68/29 (2.34:1) final drive ratio is matched to the rear tire diameter and promotes smooth acceleration away from a stop and at low speeds.
• Equipped with Cast Black, Split Five-Spoke with Machined Rim wheels front and rear. Rear wheel is 17 x 4.5 inches. Front wheel is 18 x 3.5 inches.
• Michelin Scorcher 11 radial tires are designed specifically for the SuperLow. Front is 120/70ZR18; rear is 150/60ZR17.
• 39mm Showa® fork with 4.1 inches (108mm) travel.
• Coil-over pre-load adjustable rear shocks with 2.5 inches (54mm) of wheel travel.
• Seat height is 25.5 inches (695mm) Solo seat has a deep bucket shape and is easy to straddle.
• The handlebar has a wide, flat bend that places the hand grips and controls in a natural riding position for outstanding control and comfort.
• The 17 Litre fuel tank offers extended range and helps give the SuperLow a low-profile appearance.

The new Harley-Davidson 48 is supposed to help the American firm attract a new younger fashion-conscious audience. The 48 is basically a stripped-back Sportster 1200, with a wide 150-section front tyre. The speedo is mounted flat on the top yoke and the mirrors are mounted under the handlebars to give the 48 a flat-topped look.
2010 HD Sportster 48 - stock pipes versus Vance & Hines Short Shots Exhaust Pipes
Just swapped the stock Exhaust pipes on my Sportster 48 (forty eight) for Vance and Hines Short Shot Exhaust Pipes. Got the black ones to keep the sinister look going. I made sure to include clips of each back and forth so its easy to compare the sound. I have not done the fuel remap, I'll do the air cleaner then the download. Look for my next posts when I do the a.c. and put on some 2up gear for the wife. Dont worry, the seat and backrest are easily removable to retain the SOLO look. got inspired by most of the nightster owners posts on youtube.
