Powerglide planetary rebuild with straight cut racing gears
This section is taken from the bonus edition of my Powerglide drag race
buildup DVD. It shows how to rebuild a stock 1.76 planetary using a
straight cut racing gear set. For info on the complete Powerglide buildup

Driving a Powerglide on the Street
This is the first drive of the Eaton-blown 363/Powerglide combination.
Literally the second time I started the engine - so I took it easy (sorry,
no burnouts or high-speed hijinks). This combination should go easy 9's.
I can't believe how driveable it is...
Torque Converters Explained -EricTheCarGuy
Visit me at: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/
In this video I cover the purpose and operation of the turbine, stator,
impeller, and torque converter clutch. I hope the explanation and
practical give you some insight into how these parts work to not only
transfer power from the engine to the transmission, but also how it drives
the transmission pump and doubles the torque output of the engine when you
take off from a dead stop. I've wanted to make this video for some time.
In fact I've had the fans sitting in the back of the shop for almost a
year. Now that I have the Automatic Transmission Dissection video under my
belt I thought I would add a torque converter dissection into the mix. I
hope you enjoy this video and that it gets you a better understanding of
torque converter operation. Especially since I killed my air compressor
cutting this one in half.

Yes this is indeed 'take 2' of this video. I changed a few things to make
the information more accurate. I am going to be posting the old video for

There are no words to describe the feeling when you step on the throttle
and watch the world turn to a blur as you launch towards the finish line.
Your opponent is doing the same and the winner gets there first. Both of
you experience the thrill of the competition and the enjoyment of the ride
but the winner gets to have more fun.

Dual Motor Electric Vehicle Drivetrain With Powerglide 2 Speed Transmission Walkthrough by EV West
Here's a brief 10 minute video that gives a nice overview of the EV West 2
speed Powerglide transmission that runs without a torque converter direct
drive to 2 coupled Warp 11 motors. Depending on the voltage and current,
these twin motors can put out well over 1000 lb/ft of torque, and 600+ horsepower. We used
this motor and transmission combination to power our BMW M3 to the summit
of Pikes Peak in 2012 setting an all time record for street legal electric
cars. The strength and reliability of this system is key. For more
information regarding this bolt in drive train, please visit

Powerglide transmission blowing up in rock crawler
Here is a short video clip of the Powerglide transmission exploding in our
Torchmate CNC Cutting Systems Rock Crawler. The scatter shield saved my
legs. Motor is a 550hp LS2. We spent a couple of minutes in reverse
trying to get off this belly hanger. Expensive, but no injuries!
