1970 Chevy truck w/comp mutha thumpr cam part 3
I just rebuilt the engine and the transmission. Everything is the same on the engine from previous videos except I went from the small thumpr cam to the mutha thumpr cam. On the bottom end went back with the stock crank but with x rods w/arp bolts. New speedpro hyper pistons w/moly rings instead of the cheap cast pistons that were in it. Has a new TCI flexplate and an ATI super street damper. And finally got rid of the stock radiator replaced with a Becool radiator. TH350 has all Hughes performance internals with a B&M shift kit. Also set the stock converter aside for a Hughes 3000 stall.

This video will help you have a better understanding of what questions you should be asking and what to look for in the installation! Changing your rear end gear ratio will require you to recalibrate your speedometer. For 83-95 Fox Body and SN95 Mustangs, you will need to replace your speedometer gear to fix your speedometer. Click the following link to see our speedometer gear calculator to properly select the correct speedometer gear - http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/products/Mustang-Speedometer-Gear-Calculator . If you have a 1996 to present Mustang your best fix is to pick up a SCT tuning device such as the SF3 handheld tuner to correct your speedometer. Comp Cams Thumpr Cam With Flowmaster 80 Series
New Exhaust and front grills coming soon!**Cam Information Below** The newest line of camshafts from Comp Cams is the "Thumpr". This line of retro-fit hydraulic roller and hydraulic flat tappet cams is designed for use in engines that originally used a flat tappet cam. It will give a significant increase in horsepower over an identical flat tappet grind. The "Thumpr" uses lobe profiles and grind characteristics that produce an early valve opening, long Exhaust duration, and a generous overlap to give the engine a powerful and hard hitting Exhaust note and a rough idle without sacrificing power output or streetability. RPM Range: 2,000 to 5,800 rpm Duration @ .050" lift: 227/241 (int/exh) Valve lift: .479/.465 (int/exh) Ideal for high performance street use, stock converter ok, best with 2000+ converter and gears, choppy, thumping idle. Comp Cams 12-600-4 • Muscle car sound is back • Hard hitting, lumpy idle • Excellent throttle response and "streetability" • Significant horsepower increase and a stock y-pipe with no converter. some others put into the engine too.
