Turbo Miata Drag Race - 13.8 @ 101 - Megasquirt

Had a ton of runs today. But i was dealing with a heat soak issue. My times would be a full second slower if i just did a hot pass. 90F ambient temps, intake temps were 100+ at the start lines. That plus having to deal with a ton of wheel hop if i spun the tires. Basically what it boils down to is this car is not meant for the straight line. Though this car is a blast in the twisties. If i had 60F temps, with a bigger Intercooler i could have hit 13.4 i'm sure. Car is set up with Megasquirt II, using launch control and flat foot shifting. Mod list is pretty long, so i post the relevant stuff: Stock engine internals. 12psi. FM kit, gt2560 (ported and polished header turbo (cold and hot side) and cast downpipe), MBC(junk need to get EBC working), turbosmart BOV, FM 2.5" Exhaust w/ test pipe, MegaSquirt, AEM wideband, 750cc 5o injectors, Mishimoto 3 row(huge) radiator, and Mishimoto slim fans. ebay front mount FM stage 1 clutch. 195/50/15 Yokohama S-Drive tires, Bunch of suspension stuff / tons of chassis stiffening, full brake system upgrade and other miscellaneous things. Car is a 94 r package car and has a full interior, and trunk, with the spare tire.

Decided to bring the old Yata out for shake down #2. Ran faster this time but the car (and myself) can definitely get faster. Still trying to find that perfect balance of a hard launch that's friendly to the stock NA6 differential. Fast run was a 9.2 @ 80mph, hitting the limiter in 3rd right at the line. Thinking of bumping the rev limiter up 100RPM to 7300 next time to see if I can tag 81mph.

SLEEPER Miata Shocks 600hp Z06! [STREETS]
At our stop in Nashville we hopped into a 600hp Heads/Cam Z06 after a random Miata asked to street race at a meet, not knowing much about the car other than the Intercooler we noticed we went out to see what the car had... The results were crazy! This thing was SCREAMING down the highway surprising everyone who witnessed the race. Returning back to the meet we all found out exactly why this car was so damn FAST! The 5.3L LSx under the hood Boosted by a rear mount 78mm turbo puts down mid 600whp on LOW Boost, the car was turned up as much as it could be without completely blowing off the non-radial 225 (narrow) STREET TIRES (around 700whp) equipped with a 4L80 transmission, once this street beast spools you better hold on!!! Can't wait to see this car again in the future.
