told him he could do the second half after I removed the stock one. It's
kinda our thing we do together. We work on my car. And we will do the
same for his car once he gets one. :)
Launch X431 Master 2010
Just showing you all the basic functionality of my Launch X431 Master.
Mine is an import. Everyone told me not to buy an import as you don't get
support. From what I can see the support is just a forum where a foreign
person replies or users help each other. So decided to go it alone. So far
no issues and I have 12months of updates.
If you dont know anything about computers I recommend you buy a UK version
with support as the launch x431 is a complicated device to understand and
setup from scratch.
I want to make it clear that before you buy a Launch, be aware its not the
'holy grail' of diagnostics. I dont do everything. Its a great tool, but
you also need dealer software like a VAG Com in order to perform specific
functions. You will need support from your agent when you find the X431
can't reset ABS on a BMW etc. So its not perfect. UK support is from what I
can see pretty slow. I asked a question on the forum and it took 14 days to
get a reply, that didnt answer my question... So if your buying one and
expect immediate help, be patient.
Apart from that it's a pretty cool device and much better than anything
else I have used.
Example, using the Live Readings on a Corsa that was complaining its Cat
was faulty, it was clear the Mass Air flow meter was giving inconsistant
readings, so although the mass air flow did not show up as faulty once I
saw the readings and replaced the mass air flow meter then car was happy

MSD 6AL Test
This is how the car sounds with the new MSD 6AL ignition box. I put a 3000
RPM rev limiter chip in the MSD. I started up the car, and let it idle at
1500 RPM for a minute. Then I slowly brought up the RPM - you can hear the
rev limiter start kicking in at around 2500 RPM. Then when I open it up,
it sounds like a machine gun - and the limiter is holding the motor at 3000
