Mixing one of the biggest and smoothest V8s GM ever produced with
mirror-like paint and a spacious, comfortable interior, this classy DeVille
puts a new twist on 'Standard of The World'. And if you've always dreamed

Not completely devoid of character, like so many traditional, frame-off
restorations, this road-ready drop-top is an exhilarating combination of
factory-correct blitz and tasteful glam. Appearing both solemn and
official, its Jet Black paint reflects an excellent shine that literally
glows when crouching under the sun. And that modern two-stage covers what
appears to be clean, mostly original sheetmetal which displays no sign of
botched repairs or historic damage.
Cadillac, once the world's leading proprietor of fine, 16-cylinder motor
coaches, knows a thing or two about performance. For example, this
convertible's correct, 472 cubic inch monster block, which is one of the
largest V8s ever produced, turns stout 10 to 1 compression into a smooth
And while GM Powertrain did provide engines that generated more power, this
mill was designed to idle silently, create instantaneous thrust and emit
merely a whisper from its tailpipe. Judging by the appearance of the car's
satin black bay, it's been on a regular maintenance schedule, benefitting
from periodic, full-scale detailing. Many of the motor's original ancillary
items have been replaced by flashier hardware including: a chrome,
single-snorkel air cleaner, chrome valve covers, a polished radiator
overflow and an HEI distributor that's complete with 8mm Hi Temp wires. And
thanks to two Optima gel cell batteries, the car fires so smoothly you may
not even notice it's running.
Behind that big engine, an original turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed spins a traditional
GM 12-bolt that's complete with smooth 2.98 gears. Speaking of smooth, the
car's long and low suspension, which is augmented with Air Ride
Technologies air bags, glides over almost any imperfection with virtually
no drama. And all that proven hardware rolls on slick Centerline Smoothies
which spin 245/40R20 Firestone Firehawks around detailed Cadillac crests.
If you're a fan of big time comfort, you'll be absolutely thrilled by this
DeVille's custom black interior! The '63 Cadillac front and chopped rear
seats are firm, supple and display virtually no signs of aging. In front of
those half power, half manual seats, a modernist, crack-free dash hangs a
contoured instrument panel between a billet mirror, a modern Pioneer CD
player, controls for the car's Air Ride Technologies suspension and
chrome-trimmed foot pedals. In front of the driver, a custom '59 Cadillac
steering wheel spins a chrome horn ring around a tilting column and simple
chrome gear selector. And behind the passengers, a Dynamat-lined trunk
seals a giant subwoofer behind a Pioneer CD changer, two JL Audio amps, a
small bass tube, a fifth Centerline/Firestone combo and a small, South
County Customs jack.

1958 Cadillac Coupe Deville
This is an outstanding Classic Coupe De Ville that has been a rust free
California car since new. The previous owner has had the car since 1959 and
options include, power windows, power steering, updated power disc brakes,
updated factory A/C, wire wheels, original radio with additional modern

1958 Desoto Firesweep Delivery
My Mom got an early Christmas present delivered today-- a near mint, low
mileage, un-molested, and un-restored, single-family 1958 DeSoto Firesweep.
Its two-tone colors are her favorite(s); shes been looking for awhile, and
this one came from a great family in Washington state. Thankfully, our two
DeLoreans are not without a home, my Dad is going to purchase a four-post
lift to store our cars in the garage.
1959 Cadillac El Dorado Brougham - Beginning Restoration
In 1959 the Cadillac division of General Motors was locked in a head to
head battle with the Lincoln division of Ford in an attempt to show the
world who could build the most luxurious automobile on the market. The
result of this was a partnership with Pininfarina of Italy to build 99
units of the top of the line Cadillac El Dorado Brougham. With features
and functionality unheard of in automobiles of the day this car was a
revolution when it was introduced. This first video showcases the
restoration of the car and begins with separating the chassis from the body
so the work may progress in parallel on both areas of the El Dorado.

There was no more eloquent statement of having
arrived in 1958 than pulling up to the country club or bank in a Cadillac
Fleetwood Sixty Special. Redesigned in 1958 with a strikingly handsome
profile accentuated by the lower Stainless Ribbed Panel that began behind
the rear doors and terminating at the "Exhaust ports"; all this below the towering
rocket fins, complemented the overall striking and bold styling of this
Cadillac. Standard equipment included just about everything that would fit
on the car from Cadillac's long list of luxury features and conveniences
including power vent windows and a 6-way power front seat. Only 12,900 were
built, less than half of the production of the Sedan De-Ville and a tenth
of the already low 121,778 Cadillac's produced in 1958. This example has
always lived in the South and was stored in a museum for the last 23 years.
I purchased the car for my collection in 2006 and upon receiving the car
had it thoroughly serviced and detailed, including the restoration of the
original air-ride system. Most of the interior appears to be all original
with beautiful two tone silver material and silver flecked cloth
upholstery, the original molded headliner even the carpets appear original
and are well preserved. In addition to the long list of standard features
on the Fleetwood Sixty-Special it has factory air conditioning, and correct
original working air ride leaving little or nothing for any collector to
desire in the way of equipment or condition. An elegant but also practical
addition to any collection, it is adaptable to long trips, local parades,
weekend trips of out of town, or a quick trip to the bank or the country
club where it will be unlikely to find anything even close to similar in
the parking lot.

Once I received the car, I restored the vinyl dashboard, & had the original
air ride professionally restored. I've looked around the car and it does
appear to be a mainly original, with some professionally restored
This is the 3rd '58 I've owned and probably the 100th I've seen and this is
hands down one of the nicest '58's out there. According to the owner of the
museum he is the second owner so this car went from one owner to a museum
to my collection and is now for the
first time available for public purchase and viewing since the museums
closing in the mid 1990's. Car runs and drives as nicely as it looks.
