First Drive: BMW i8 - /CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS
Chris Harris takes a 24 hour trip to Los Angeles to drive the new BMW i8.
He hated the flight, but the i8 left a positive impression on the team.
Capable of 23 miles all electric before the 3-cylinder turbocharged motor kicks in to recharge the
batteries. This is one of the closest production cars we've ever seen that
looks almost identical to the concept car it's based on.
(ENG) BMW i3 - First Drive, Test Drive and Review
BMW is launching its long-awaited first mass-produced electric model: the
i3. It is the first car from a new series, designed to appeal to a new
The i3 has a theoretical range of around 150-160 kilometers, but in real
life 120-130 seems more manageable. The car can also be equipped with an
optional petrol range extender. However unlike most other electric cars,
BMW i3 is fast and relatively fun to drive on European roads.
It might not be the Isetta everyone thought it would be, but this could be
the future of mobility.
On 17 April BMW i3 received two awards:
- 2014 World Car Design of the Year
- 2014 World Green Car
as part of the World Car of the Year (WCOTY) programme.

The $4.5 Million Lamborghini Veneno driving in California
Check me out on Facebook: www.facebook.com/StradmanPhotography
See the other Lamborghini Veneno I've filmed here:
This $4.5 million dollar Lamborghini Veneno was shown at the Quail
Motorsports gathering in Monterey, California. Lamborghini is producing
just 4 Venenos; This one will be at the Lamborghini factory in Sant'agata
Bolognese, Italy. Two of the remaining three will end up in the United
States, one in Miami, Florida and one in Long Island, New York. The third
one will end up in the Middle East. The two American bound Lamborghini
Venenos have been delivered. The Veneno in Long Island, owned by Antoine
Dominic (owner of Lamborghini Long Island) is expected to be displayed at
the showroom of Lamborghini Long Island. Dominic is a long time Ferrari
owner who had an F40, F50, Enzo and an MC12 prior to switching to
Lamborghini. The Miami bound Veneno, owned by Kris Singh, is expected to
be driven somewhat regularly. Mr. Singh is managing director of Tequesta
Investments. Each of the three customer delivered Venenos is finished in a
different colored accent, red, white and green. The Veneno in this video
is red. This is noticeable on the front splitter and rear diffuser.
It has been announced that Lamborghini will also introduce a roadster
version of the Veneno. Lamborghini will produce 9 Lamborghini Veneno
The Lamborghini Veneno was first unveiled at the Genevea Auto Show in April
2013. The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster was first photographed at a special
private viewing in Beverly Hills, California in November 2013. It's
official debut was on an Italian air craft carrier in Abu Dhabi. It also
was shown at CES 2014, Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada in
conjunction with Monster Audio, who fitted a custom $100,000 sound system
in the Veneno Roadster.
The Lamborghini Veneno is a development of the Lamborghini Aventadors 6.5L
V12 producing 740 HP. Veneno means venom in Spanish. Lamborghini currently
produced the Aventador, the Veneno and is set to begin production of the
Gallardo replacement, the Lamborghini Huracan. The Lamborghini Huracan
LP610-4 is set to be officially unveiled at the Geneva International Auto
Show on March 4, 2014.
The Lamborghini Veneno follows in the footsteps of other extremely limited
production Lamborghinis. Prior to the Veneno, Lamborghini built 20 race
oriented Lamborghini Sesto Elementos, based off the Gallardo. Prior to the
Sesto Elemento, Lamborghini produced the Lamborghini Reventon, of which
only 20 coupes and 15 roadsters. The Reventon was sold for $2 million USD.
The Lamborghini Veneno is featured in Forza Motorsport 5 and Need for
Lamborghini just unveiled the new Lamborghini Asterion at the 2014 Paris
Auto Show. The Lamborghini Asterion takes design elements from the
Lamborghini Veneno in the rear.
2011 Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow Concept
For the 2011 Los Angeles Design Challenge, which was seeking to find the
most spectacular new film car for Hollywood, the designers from the
Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studios in Sindelfingen (Germany) and
Carlsbad (USA), have joined the ranks of the screen-writers.
The designers at the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Design Studio in Carlsbad,
California have created a Hollywood-style homage for Mercedes-Benz to 125
years of innovation in automotive technology and design. The leading roles
are played by two high-tech characters which have been instrumental in
reconciling safety and stylish design in automobiles: the Mercedes-Benz
Silver Arrow cult racing car and crash test dummies.
The film "Silver Lightning" is set in the near future, in an age of
artificial intelligence. Two crash test dummies by the names of Hans05 and
Franz02 take on evil ruler Dr. Crash-Barrier to save their beloved Mercedes
Silver Arrow. They engage in an action-packed, nerve-jangling duel with the
ruthless battering ram before finally outfoxing him. The Mercedes-Benz
Silver Arrow Concept is a low-lying sculpture on wheels. A feat of
technical innovation is the diagonal, hubless roller which allows steering
in all directions. The futuristic Silver Arrow's proportions are
reminiscent of the legendary sports car from the late 1930s and the
Uhlenhaut SLR from the 1950s.
