This BMW 325i headlights restoration took a doing. These headlights had passed the yellow stage gone through the hazy cloudy stage of oxidation. They were among the worst headlights that we have ever restore. Never the less we were able to give these headlights a new look after our headlight restoration service. Fixmyheadlights.com have been restoring headlights in south Florida in the Miami Dade, Broward county area for the past 3 years. Headlight lens restoration using regular toothpaste is real. It doesn't take much effort, but the type or brand of toothpaste does make a difference. Watch to see the results i came up with.

These rims where dropped off with red stripes originally and the entire wheels were sanded and painted. This how to paint your rims video doesn't properly illustrate the prep work that was done prior to painting.
The wheels where completely scuffed, cleaned and the black was masked off before painting the rims. The clear coat applied at the end provides the shine and durability of the wheels.
This customer had brought me a set of rims from his Mazda 6 that had a red strip originally but he wanted it painted yellow to match the rest of his car. After about 10hrs of work the rims had been painted successfully. I think the rims look pretty sweet, they kinda remind me of the bumblebee man transformer. This is how to paint rims with or with the stripe, base and clear like any other job works great.
The rims were first scuffed with a sanding paste and scotch pad to prep them for the paint to adhere. Next the line was taped up and the color was applied to the rims. The first coat was a white ground coat to help my yellow cover better since it is transparent. I used a Devilbiss Dagr airbrush to apply the basecoat and a Devilbiss gti was used for clearcoat.
After basecoat the tape was removed and I removed any overspray off the rims and remasked them. The tire was masked off of the rim and the valve stem was taped up also. Two coats of BASF clearcoat was applied and allowed to dry. The basecoat used here was RM ONYX HD Waterborne paint.

Fortunately, the bumper, PHYSICALLY, is 100% undamaged! Cosmetically, it was a total mess.
Before I started this video, I got half the "Darlington Stripes" off if it, and in this segment, I remove the rest of them. Some scratches remain, and there's some chipped off paint. Tocuh-up painting is in the next part.
BEFORE SOMEONE SAYS IT:
No, I do NOT have the time, or money, to go though the hassles of insurace companies, getting it appraised, quoted, and replacing the bumper. The damage is fairly neglegable, and when it's done, it'll not be perfect, but will look like other parts of the car.
ALSO: Once all is done, the receipts for the materials will be sent to the cab company who was responsible. Fortunately, it's not going to be a major nightmare.

Chemical Guys will show you how to wet sand the headlights and prepare for the polishing process. Wet Sanding is performed with Chemical Guys Sanding block and extra fine sand paper.
Next, the headlights are polished using V34, V36, and V38 optical polishes using the orange, green, and black Hexlogic polishing pads. The Flex PE-14 Rotary Polisher teamed with the Evolve 4R mini backing plate has the polishing power to remove the sanding scratches and restore the crystal clear appearance to the headlight.
To protect the headlight from feature fading from sun damage, we use a coat of Jetseal109 which is formulated specifically to protect the headlight against harmful UV Rays.

DIY: Wrapping Rims in Matte Black Vinyl
I wanted to try a new style for my winter rims, and instead of pinting them i wrapped them in vinyl, Costs about $10 a rim. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/321097538225 This short video shows you how to wrap a rim quickly(sped up 3x), There really is no downfall to doing this, faster and cheaper then painting, the vinyl only weighs .4 ounces or about 50 grams. and thats spread out throughout the rim and if you dont like it then just peal it off. As soon as I heard that my fellow Eurowerkz members were throwing a third EuroFest, bigger and better then the years before I knew I had to be apart of it. This years EuroFest was held at Metlife Stadium in NJ on April 29th and despite some fairly high wind gusts the day couldn't have been anymore perfect. With reports of close to 3,000 attendees it turned out to be one of the biggest Euro car meets on the East coast. I know I had a blast, so hopefully you will enjoy the video.
