Hennessey Venom GT Road Testing
Based on the Lotus Elise/Exige, the Venom GT "combines a high-tech, lightweight British chassis with a powerful American V8." Speaking of the latter, power comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8 engine (from Corvette ZR1 fame) with 725 bhp (541 kW / 735 PS). If that doesn't seem good enough, Hennessey will also offer 1000 bhp (746 kW / 1014 PS) and 1200 bhp (895 kW / 1217 PS) twin-turbo V8s.

Some runs we did down in Mexico during October. Rained that evening, so it was impossible to hook.
Cars there were amazing. Some in the video include 2005 Corvette - LSX block, heads, cam, stall, built tranny, A&A Supercharger, methanol injection, up to 500 shot Nitrous and tune; pushing 1000HP, Trans Am WS6 pushing 413HP, Camaro SS (unknown HP...10sec car) and quite a
few others.

Made a few 1/4 mile passes at Thunder Road Raceway Park near Gilliam, Louisiana on 7/22/11 in preparation for a match against an LT1 WS6 Fbody. More on that to come...
