Junkyard Cars 4. The cars in the first junkyard were very hard to find and are not for sale (I wasn't even supposed to be in the lot: No Trespassing). The other ones may be but they are in no great shape for fixing up anyway... BTW: First lot located in Bettendorf, IA. and last lot located in Rock Island, Il.
Junkyard Cars 5
These cars were well hidden; It was the silos that caught my eye. Strange
to find a lot like this with no "NO TRESPASSING" signs or fences. Anyway,
the cars don't exactly look salvagable, but they're cool to see. Idk if
they're for sale or not but i just went out to this place again recently
and the convertible, the white primered car, and the black 55 chevy
(3:50-4:05) are all gone- so maybe they were sold?
Junkyard Cars 3
Junkyard Cars 3. I believe this to be an abandoned lot of cars that a
forest has grown up around. Most of these have probobly been here for 30-40
years. I believe someone does own it but I heard that he's willing to sell-
if you can get them out of the trees. Many of the older ones are pretty
much unsalvageable, though. BTW: Located 3 miles up the road from New
Boston, Il., which is by the Mississippi River.
Junkyard Cars 2
Junkyard Cars 2. More old cars that I found, all of these ones are at
Bridgeway Auto Parts, located in Moline, Il. I'm pretty sure that he won't
sell them, but you never know. Anyway, great place to look at these old
muscle cars that need a second chance
muscle cars all for sale in the midwest . Camaros chevelles goats
roadrunners Mustangs you
name they have it .. all can be seen at davesclassiccars.com ....so
give them a call and give 1 or 2 a new home and let their legacy live on..
thanks and please rate and enjoy!!!
Some of these pictures were taken at E&J Junkyard in Rock Island, Il.; and
some car lots in Muscatine, Iowa.
Country Classic Cars
These were taken Labor Day, 2009. Country Classic Cars has many, many more
cars indoors that are in nicer shape too. Good place to stop if you're in
the general St. Louis area.
Slideshow Part2 Kaufdorf car graveyard September 2008
Kaufdorf Autofriedhof - Switzerland's vintage car graveyard.
It was the biggest graveyard of its kind in Europe -- a vast metal jungle
of more than 1,000 rusting vintage cars including forgotten British
Wolseleys, "sit up and beg" Ford Prefects, rotting Porsches and even the
wreck of a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.
The collection of decaying old-timers, which go back to the late-1920s,
sits in makeshift corrugated iron garages and among trees on the edge of
Kaufdorf some 10 miles south of Switzerland's capital Bern.
After surviving for 75 years, the authorities have declared that the
collection is an environmental hazard and intend to clear it by court order
later this year. But the plan has provoked uproar among concerned Kaufdorf
locals and more than just a few other Swiss residents. A campaign to
preserve the site was started last month when an open day was held. The
organisers expected about 50 people to attend, but 10,000 turned up. Franz
Messerli, whose father founded the car cemetery, said: "We never expected
such interest. Our aim is to preserve it for posterity as a national work
Mr Messerli's father, Walter, opened what was originally intended as a
vehicle breaker's yard in 1933. A part-time racing driver and scrap-metal
dealer, he was fascinated by cars and even taught himself to be a mechanic.
At its peak, his collection numbered about 2,000 vehicles.
Junkyard 71 Ford Custom Start attempt
Well all can say this about the most fun I ever had up in Wisconsin. I
ended up frying the starter and didn't have enough time to find second one
and swap it in before the sun set. Never got one pop out of it. Hopefully
it will still be there next time I go up.
