Mission 2009, I just couldn't help myself.... I abandoned Tim and Sharon at
the pits and ran to catch this 'stang during this exhibition run. It was
the second time it ran and my nose and eyes were crying both times... sorry
'bout the shake... the track guys told me the tripod had to go "in case
something bad happens...." "I love the smell of nitro at the track in the
Truck Fest 2013: Smokey Big Rigs Burnouts & Drag Racing Revealed
( http://www.TFLtruck.com ) When you think of a Big Rig Semi...you probably
don't immediately think of drag racing...or do you? This weekend at
Bandimere Speedway just outside of Denver, Colorado hundreds of Big Rig
Semi trucks lined up on the drag strip to see which one is the kind of the
mile high drag strip and which one is the fastest mile high pickup
dragster. Can a big rig run a sub 20 second quarter mile? You bet. Can a
big rig run a sub 15 mile....no problem. Can a Big Rig run a sub 10 second
time? You'll have to watch the video to find out. In another fun and
informative TFLtruck video we see what happens when the Big Rig Semi Trucks
line up behind the Christmas Tree.

Traxxas Funny Car
The new Traxxas Funny Car! Get all the details here:
Outrageous horsepower, Intense Speed,
and the Unmatched Realism Cubic-inch for cubic-inch, no motorsport offers
as much sheer power and performance as NHRA drag racing. A single funny car
produces more horsepower than the first 8
rows of cars in a stock-car race. Drivers pull more than five Gs when they
launch, accelerating faster than a
fighter jet. Over 300mph is achieved in about the time it takes to read
The Traxxas NHRA Funny Car Race Replica brings it all to life the Traxxas
way with outrageous horsepower, intense speed,
and the unmatched realism and authenticity that only comes from being both
fans and dedicated participants in NHRA drag racing. The Traxxas NHRA Funny
Car accurately captures the total racing experience with realistic staging
action on the start line. After your burnout, shake up your opponent by
being the last one to roll into the stage beam. When the lights go green,
release the Launch Control for a perfect reaction time. You've already set
your wheelie bar and used the multi-function knob on your transmitter to
fine-tune the launch for maximum traction and acceleration. From there,
it's up to you to keep it full throttle down the track and across the
Off the track, the realism continues with tilt-up licensed bodies developed
from the full size CAD drawings, tube style chassis, super-sticky belted
slicks, and accurate detailing. The front latch eliminates body clips for
fast access to the battery compartment. The full suspension system is
engineered to give the Traxxas NHRA Funny Car the ability to handle the
ruts and bumps of real world track surfaces. Combined with the Traxxas
DTS-1 Drag Timing System (sold separately) and the Traxxas Link application
on your TQi Docking Base (all sold separately), Traxxas drag racing becomes
a full-on simulation with timing so accurate, races are won and lost by a
millisecond. Only Traxxas could bring this level of intense racing
competition and all-out fun together in such a tightly engineered package.
Realistic "Tube" Chassis The steel, welded-tube construction of the
full-size John Force Racing Funny Cars is replicated by the Traxxas NHRA
Funny Car's gleaming black-chrome chassis. Details including the
front-mounted fuel tank (non-functional, of course) and driver's roll cage
give the Funny Car authentic looks to match its realistic performance. The
wheelie bar is a functional tuning aid that helps the Funny Car transfer
weight to the rear wheels for a perfect launch.
TQi 2.4GHz Intelligent Transmitter The World's Most Advanced
Ready-To-Race® Radio System
The Traxxas NHRA Funny Car is equipped with the TQi,™ the world's most
advanced Ready-To-Race® radio system. The radio system is the sole
connection between the driver and machine and the all-new Traxxas TQi has
been engineered to be precise, comfortable, powerful, and reliable. The TQi
radio system arrives with a full complement of tuning features including
steering and throttle sensitivity, steering percentage, braking strength,
servo end points, and more. The unique 4-channel transmitter allows you to
select Burnout, Staging, and Race Modes. When you're ready to pull the
trigger and race, the Launch Control switch lets you hold full throttle and
flip the switch to launch. Use the multi-function knob to dial in the ET-3s
speed control's torque settings for the quickest launches. Tune for
temperature and track conditions just like the pro's. The TQi's long-range,
high-output, 2.4GHz signal combines with proven Traxxas reliability for
rock-solid performance. It's so advanced, it doesn't even need an

Mark Sheehan's Nitro Funny Car test day 23.12.2007
This is Mark Sheehan's Nitro Funny Car licensing debut taken on the 23rd
December at the Perth Motorplex. On the car's first 60-foot shut-off
launch, all went well with an impressive .94 short time on the sizzling hot
120-degree track. On the second launch for the day (which was meant to be a
330 foot shut-off) the head gaskets blew, and so the team packed up for the
The car has a Victory chassis, and was originally built for John Force as a
spare chassis for his team, but was never used. When the Sheehan team
acquired this chassis, it was used and built as a small block Alcohol
Altered, and ran as quick as 5.69 seconds on both sides of Australia. The
Victory chassis was then reworked, and a great deal of effort was put into
building the parts and components that were required to convert the car
onto nitro, which was all done locally in Perth by the many people who
helped bring the dream together to make it the reality which it is today.
When the Sheehan team made the switch over onto nitromethane with the
chassis, it was mated up with an ex John Force 2003 Castrol Syntec Mustang Funny Car body, which was
used by Tony Pedregon to win the 2003 NHRA World Championship.
The main engine components on the car were purchased from Bill Miller in
America including engine blocks, cranks and manifolds, while the cylinder
heads and the rest of the other parts came from the John Force Racing
stables. The engine combination will produce between 7000 and 8000 horsepower once it is all
sorted, and should be capable of propelling Sheehan to 4-second ET's at
over 300 mph.
Mark and Sharon would like to thank all of the people and sponsors who have
been involved with helping the car to get in it's first laps including Red
Line Oil, Dimoff Transmissions, Beau's Haulage, WA Racecar Fibreglass, Rory
Taylor from Speed Torque, Ian Jenkins from JPP, Jay Upton, Bill Miller, the
Perth Motorplex, and of course all of the happy crew.
Future licensing procedures for the team are now planned for January 2008.
