Zakspeed Ford Turbo Capri
Zakspeed Ford turbo Capri beim AvD Oldtimer GP 2012 auf dem Nürburgring. Peter Zakowski fährt das Original Meisterschaftsauto von 1981, mit dem Klaus Ludwig damals gewann. Das Fahrzeug ist mit dem kleinen Motor der Division 2 bestückt mit 1,4l Hubraum. In beiden Rennen sah Zakowski die Zielflagge wegen technischer Probleme nicht. Im Rennen 1 bedrängt er Oliver Mathai im Porsche 935 und im Rennen 2 räumt er binnen kürzester Zeit das Feld von hinten auf. Sowohl nach dem Training als auch nach dem ersten Rennen wurde am Fahrzeug umfangreich gearbeitet. Der Ladedruck ist noch nicht eingestellt und deshalb hat P.Zakowski die Hand häufiger mal am "Dampfrad". Vom turbo Capri wurden insgesamt fünf Fahrzeuge gebaut. Ein Fahrzeug wurde zerstört, eines zu einem Mustang umgebaut, ein Fahrzeug wurde von Herbert Stenger bei Bergrennen eingesetzt, ein Fahrzeug baut Stefan Mücke in Berlin wieder auf und hier eben das 1981er Meisterschaftsauto bei Zakspeed. onboard race1 at 05:35 onboard race 2 at 12:14

The Ford Capri was the successful adaptation American Ford Mustang to Europe. The RS 2600 was presented at the 1970 Geneva Motor Show, manufactured in the German factory of Ford. Engine developed by Weslake: lighter cylinders, modified suspension, shorter gear ratios, doors and bonnet lightweight, ventilated disc brakes, wider wheels ... all to fulfill the regulation of Group 2 RS 2600 corresponds to the initial Rally Sport 2.6 liters Its development came to Cosworth increasing the Essex engine with over 435 hp. - El Ford Capri fue la adaptación para Europa del exitoso Mustang americano . El RS 2600 se presentó en el Salón de Ginebra de 1970, fabricado en la factoría alemana de Ford, tenía el motor desarrollado por Weslake: cilindros más ligeros, suspensión modificada, relaciones de cambio más cortas, puertas y capó aligerados, discos de freno ventilados, llantas de mayor anchura...todo enfocado a cumplir la reglamentación del Grupo 2 vigente en esos días. RS 2600 corresponde a las iniciales de Rally Sport 2.6l Su desarrollo llego a pasar por Cosworth, llegando a sacar al motor Essex más de 435 caballos.
