GoPro HD Hero camera * 8 Second Drag Bike * DAN TEMPEL* Mission Raceways *
A quick minute with Dan Tempel who races out of Mission Raceways in Mission BC. He took a bit of time with us to mount an on-board camera as he barrelled down the quarter mile (1320 feet - 440 yards) in 8 seconds!
So come along, aboard this bike and "See" what the rider sees! Watch the starting line disappear in a blur of speed as the bike launches from a stand still to 150+ miles per hour!
On-board footage of dragster crash
Blown head gasket dumps water in front of the tires causing dragster to
veer into the wall and flip, landing upside down. Thanks to the excellent
track emergency team and the strongly-built car, the driver sustained no
injuries. The car is capable of 200+ MPH and sub-7 second 1/4 mile passes.
It is powered by a turbo-charged 2.2
liter 4-cylinder GM EcoTech engine producing nearly 1600 HP.

GoPro HD Hero: Top Dragster breaks input shaft!
We try to make a qualifying pass for the Quick 16 race and end up shearing
the input shaft. I strapped the GoPro on the rear section of the frame, it
was neat to see the suspension working...also to watch the slicks get real
skinny during the burnout!
