Stock Cats and Manifolds, Dropped the muffler and replaced with Magnaflow Stainless Steel Y-Pipe, 2.5" Tail Pipes out the back with Magnaflow 5" Diesel tips. This is a update from my last vid, got the interior and Exhaust so far.
2009 silverado straight pipes with cats
This is my 2009 5.3 v8 with the stock cats still on and the stock 3" pipe
with no muffler or resonator that Y duals into 2.5" pipes with 4" black
tips. Ive tried every muffler replace and it wasn't loud enough till i just
cut it off. It doesn't have the stupid pop going down the road. Love the
sound. It doesn't cause any lights or codes to go off, and will pass all
inspections, unless they have a sound limit. FOR THOSE GOING TO A MUFFLER
SHOP AND WANTING TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO TELL THE MECHANIC, COPY AND PASTE
THIS BELOW. THE SIZE TUBING AND TIPS ARE VERY IMPORTANT TO THE SOUND.
The stock single Exhaust pipe was 3"
in diameter. Cut off the stock muffler and throw it and everything after
away, or sell it. Where the stock muffler you cut off started, weld a 3" in
and dual 2.5" Y pipe in it's place. (shown in video) Run the 2.5" tubings
out to however you want them to exit (mine were 45degrees in the rear to
hide my lift blocks) and attach 4" wide tips, preferably longer than 12".

2008 Chevrolet Silverado Magnaflow Muffler Before & After
2008 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L V8 w/ Magnaflow muffler. I should also
clarify, this recording was with a bad microphone. It was recorded with an
old digital camera. The sound is a little weak because it doesn't have
good range on it. Will try to get a new video up soon.

Today on this 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Series extended cab short bed
we are going to be installing MagnaFlow Exhaust system part number MF16568. We are
underneath the vehicle and the first thing I have done is lowered the spare
tire out of the way to give us some extra working room. We also want to
disconnect the battery. What that is going to do is once we get the system
installed we can reconnect it and it will actually reset the computer
system so it does not bring up any trouble codes from the new system. The
first step before we can install our Exhaust system is to of course remove the
factory installed Exhaust. There are
four Exhaust hangers that we are going
to need to remove the Exhaust off of
towards the more rear side of the Exhaust system. 00:39
To the catalytic converter there is a clamp attaching the Exhaust to the converter. We are going to need
to loosen that clamp as well. That clamp is going to be reused so we do not
want to damage it so set it off to the side. Also to ease in the removal of
the factory installed system we are going to need to cut the pipe just rear
of the muffler right before the main bend right above the axle. Cut
somewhere right in here, that will allow us to take that piece off and then
remove the forward section all in one piece. With the cut made and the rear
tail pipe removed I am going to go up to the forward side and remove my
clamp next. With the clamp loosened up go back through and remove the main
Exhaust system off its other three
Now it is time to start installing our new system. We are going to start
with the inlet tube into the catalytic converter and again we are going to
be reusing the clamp that we removed in the previous step. You will notice
there is a bend in the inlet tube coming over the cross member. Make sure
the bend is going up. We do not want to fully clamp it down just yet. We
want to wait until we get all of the pieces in position and then we will
come back through and tighten everything down. We are going to tighten it
up to hold it into place. Next we are going to put the muffler in to
position. We are going to merge the two pieces together using the three
inch clamp and it is going to merge up with the factory hanger. Then you
need to attach it to the two factory hangers. We are going to start
installing back to the tips. This model only had single Exhaust on it but we are putting a dual Exhaust system on it. So we are going to
finish out on the passenger side where the factory pipe was and then we
will come back through and finish off the driver side. 02:52
Chevy Silverado 5.3L Flowmaster 40 Series Dual Catback Exhaust
Catback kit is a Flowmaster Force II kit Part No: 817492 on Flowmasters
this kit came with a 50 series single in dual out which i swapped with a 40
series to make it louder it is a single 3" in dual 2.5" out original 40
series muffler. This kit is all 409 stainless and is a clamp on kit, no
wielding required. If you have any questions just ask.

before this and they were just too quiet. Now it is real loud and has less

pro comp all terrain extreme tires as well.
