Turbo Valiant Wagon Dyno

Remember the Sleeper Wagon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6wXw8t9oeU ? It was a Aussie Valiant wagon (A-body Mopar like the Dodge Dart) that I bought for $250 and fitted a borrowed 440 big block to it. Year's later I repainted the car Hemi Orange and fitted a turbocharged 245 hemi six to it and even though it made only 40hp less than the big block it was nowhere near as much fun. Here's the Dyno tuning session from about four years ago. These days the wagon just runs a naturally aspirated 245 hemi six, but I'm thinking of doing some more to it soon.

Wicked Fast 2JZ-powered BMW M3 - Gas Motorsports
We love quick cars and don't really care what they're powered by, so we reckon this Toyota 2JZ powered BMW M3 is pretty awesome. Check out the second pass where it runs in the sevens after stepping off the gas well before the finish line. This car is going to be a weapon once they get it sorted!





WTOFIT - Crazy Rotary Powered Van Burnout
We popped in to the Good Fryday Burnout at Sydney Dragway to check out the action and found this totally insane little rotary powered Suzuki van ripping a few skids. Check out that glowing Exhaust. We've seen a few hot systems in our time but never one that glowed so brightly.





Twin Turbo LS1-Powered HK Monaro on Dyno
Rodney Ritchie used to run a serious procharger blow-through set-up on his HG Monaro but he's ripped that out and fitted a 406ci LS1 with twin T04Z turbos. It doesn't run alot of Boost but it sure makes enough power. It won the Dyno at Winton's Performance Car Mania with 731rwhp. Rodney now plans to finish things off with an Intercooler and pump up the Boost for even more power, and possibly have a crack at Modified Street Blown in the APSA series.





Sleeper Wagon
This was a car I built up with some friends for fun. It's a 1970 VG Valiant station wagon (it's an A-body Mopar, like a Dodge dart...but a wagon)and we yanked the stock 4-litre six and bolted in a 440ci motor. The car was awesome, we would abolutely hose WRX's on the street and no-one expected anything from an old white station wagon. This video is quite old and it was the first video I ever edited. It comes from when we raced the wagon at an 1/8th mile meeting at Sydney's Oran Park. I came runner up at the meeting and I decided to show enough of each run to show how we won. Most of the time it looks like I'm racing myself until the camera pans. In the final we raced a drag pick-up and stayed with it for most of the run which shows how capable the wagon was. I still have the wagon, it now runs a turbocharged 4-litre, I'll post up some videos as they become available. Enjoy.

Yep, it's powered by a 253 with a Supercharger from a UD truck for a bit of fun. Shannon loves a bit of burnout action and he's a regular viewer/commentor here on Scotty's Garage so be nice. :)





Project Digger Burnout Testing
Back when the Army's Project Digger was first getting built I was invited along to film some burnout testing. As you can see the car wasn't finished but with time getting short before Summernats 23 they wanted to make sure it was right to go. Unfortunately, as a direct result of the testing they decided to not do any burnout at Summernats that year due to cooling issues. But it sure looked good. So for those that haven't seen it in action, here you go.





Twin Turbo VE Valiant at Sydney Dragway
Check out this crazy combo! Two whopping great turbos hang through the bonnet of this '68 VE Valiant. Now I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner in person, but people tell me it's got a 410 cube big block. Not sure if that correct or not, but it's obviously still getting sorted because they seemed to be testing the launch more than anything on the day. Hopefully we'll see some decent times out of this car in the future.





TOYTON - Unblown to Blown in Five Minutes
Okay, we sped the footage up a little but in all honesty Rob Godfrey went from an unblown big block to an 8/71 combo in less than 20 minutes. For those that don't know the car it is one of Australia's top Street Machines, winning both Street Machine of the year and Summernats Grand Champion. with the only naturally aspirated 632ci combo it made 1050rwhp and run eights on the quarter. The new blown 502ci combo is more cruisable, but makes less power. Looks bloody awesome though. The girls appeared as soon as Rob fired the car up. Very cool.





Jake Edwards Torana - Summernats 21
On the Dyno at Summernats 21. Jakes Edwards is probably Australia's foremost authority on blow through carby set-ups. Here's his own personal car running over 1000hp at the tyres with a single carb and no Intercooler although it does run on mehtanol. The engine is a 393cube Holden V8 and it runs a single Holset turbo.





Twin Turbo V6 Sleeper Wagon
At the Dyno day run by Totally Exhausted (with help from the crew at Webster's Dyno) in Wodonga this VN wagon was a real sleeper. On the outside it looks just like any other faded red shitbox vn (I own a faded red shitbox vn too - so I can say that), but pop the bonnet (that's hood to you American folk) and there's two tiny little turbos helping the 3.8-litre v6 Boost it's way to over 250rwhp while several hundred people partied and looked on. Stay tuned for more from this Dyno day. There were a few suprise packages and alot of fun had by all.





Twin Turbo V8 Lexus-powered Capri
Joe Geri's Capri recently featured in Street Machine Magazine and it has run as fast as 8.34 at 164mph. But instead of running a V8 Ford engine Joe has gone for a 4-litre Lexus V8, which is legally the biggest engine he can fit to the car and turbo it while remaining totally street legal. He drives this car to the track, bolts on some slicks, runs eights and drives it home. It's a true street and strip warrior. Nice one Joe!





Australia's Quickest Nitrous Car - Wilson/Kryger Camaro
Edit: It's been pointed out there might be a couple of quicker Nitrous cars in Australia but regardless this car is pretty impressive so I'll let the title stand. I'm pretty sure this is Australia's quickest Nitrous car, although if I'm wrong someone will let me know. With a monster motor and massive gas kit the car runs some seriously quick times considering it's only on 10.5 rubber. It's still early days for the black Camaro, owned by Johnny Wilson and Simon Kryger, who knows how fast they'll get it going?





TNT265 - 400hp+ Hemi six Pacer burnout
In naturally aspirated six cylinder terms this car is a bit of a legend, winning the horsepower Heroes NA six cylinder class at Summernats countless times. The very healthy 265 under the bonnet is built by Russell Richardson at Dominator Race engines, and he also owns the car, which makes over 330hp at the tyres. That's without Nitrous, turbos or a blower. It's a very stout six pack indeed, and the car is also a genuine E31 Pacer, one of the rare Bathurst specials with the 160litre tank in the boot with the fuel filler on top of the rear guard.





Turbo V8 Valiant Burnout
We love sleepers here on Scotty's Garage and I reckon a turbocharged 318 v8 in an old VJ Ranger qualifies as a sleeper. This car is well known for smoky burnout and high Boost action and it didn't disappoint at Gazzanats, although the ending was cut short through a massive loss of coolant.
