Avant 528 with log grappler

As you can see this attachment can be used for different purposes- in first video there was clamshell bucket attached to that, now it's changed to log grappler- as hydraulic pipes to the rotor are attached using quick release connections 3/8" then I can switch from bucket to grappler in less than minute. In this video you might notice that rotor is responding too quickly to commands therefore now I have added flow decrease valves on pipes which are turning rotor itself- it just reduces the turning speed but doesn't have any impact on its power as hydraulic pressure stay's the same. I have plan to check whether it is able to drive an auger (like 120-150mm)as well, just need to get it somewhere.

Avant 528 with clamshell bucket
This is the one of few upgrades which I have made so far for my Avant 528 but it is the first one which I decided to share with you. In general Avant is good tool but at the same time manufacturer can't guess any customer needs upfront, and this is exactly the case. I have quite a long ditch which time by time requires to be cleaned. As mainly it has sludge there then it is quite impossible to do it with spade therefore I decided to make additional tool for my Avant in order to deal with that- and here is result. Mechanical part was an easy one- bought 60L clamshell bucket, welded main frame for that (1500mm long 80X80 steel tube, with its wall thickness of 8mm). The problems started with hydraulic- all Avants (at least 500 series) have just one pair of hydraulic outlet which doesn't allow to operate bucket and it's rotor at the same time therefore I did its upgrade to two pairs of outlets using solenoid valves. The second thing which isn't available for 500 series Avant is option to control its auxiliary outlets with joystick (despite such option is available for 600 series and above)- therefore I bought joystick itself (called joystick 8 functions)from my Avant dealer and using appropriate relays created control unit for that- was quite a difficult task but result is excellent and I'm really proud of that.

Screening bucket, Avant 300-700 Series attachment
Avant screening bucket separates different sized soil materials effectively with the help of it's unique construction. The purpose of the screening bucket is indeed to separate the larger and smaller particles from the soil and not crush the larger material into smaller particles. Top soil making for landscaping, nurseries and whole sale is the principal use for Avant screening buckets. Advantage of screening bucket is, that no sharp particles are crushed into the material, making it safe to use in garden and park areas. Avant screening buckets also make it possible to alter the top soil composition for different uses. You are able to mix peat, sand, silt, clay or moraine into the top soil to make the soil composition right for different purposes. Back fillings (padding) of pipes, cables and tanks are also an ideal place to use a screening bucket. You are able to screen the fine material on top of the pipes or tanks to protect them and there is no need to transport finer material to the work sites separately. In the demolition and construction site you can separate different size of construction and demolition waste making it easier to recycle them.

And here you can see few of latest upgrades I did for my Avant- double wheels- significantly reduce the pressure to the soil, especially if used on lawn (like with lawn mower once per week), also traction and stability is increased significantly, floating attachment hook-up- Avant doesn't have factory made floating option (the one it has is not really "floating")- quite significant tool if you need to work with attachments which require precise follow-on terrene like lawn mower or dozer blade. Also dozer blade itself was improved with additional solid support legs (not available as option for this model, available for one with width of 2000) and I increased its height (doubled it) as without that it was too low and not suitable for snow removal.

Concrete mixing bucket is a handy tool when you need to make concrete without electricity or when you need to transport or lift the concrete to a difficult place. Bucket can be filled directly from the ground like a normal bucket and mixing is performed hydraulically.
