MR2 Brands Hatch 2010 - Best Race Ever
Alex is starting on pole for the final race of the 2010 Mk1 MR2 Racing
series, in what turns out to be the most exciting race yet with crashes,
spins and slides on the wet Brands Hatch Indy circuit.
To win the 'Driver of the Year' title, Alex needs to finish somewhere in
the top 15 drivers. He gets a poor start and drops down to third place, but
watch as things go from bad to worse at the second corner.
Alex manages to keep it out of the gravel at Druids but has to wait for the
whole field to pass before he finally rejoins in 30th place. He is then on
a mission to make his way up the field as quickly as possible.
As if things could then get any worse, 3 laps in exiting Druids a car in
front spins and collects another one, blocking the track and leaving Alex
with pretty much no escape.
Thankfully, the MR2 still seems fine to drive, so Alex pushes on making up
for lost time and places.
In the end, after 15 laps, he manages to make up a total of 26 places,
finishing 4th overall, meaning he had done more than enough to take the

This car is so damn brutal in the handling aspect. It is absolutely gutless
in the power department, but, it handles better than most 4 wheeled
vehilcles on planet earth priced under 10 grand. You can't argue with the
fact the driver has some balls to be this cocky on
dirt/ice/water/mud/corners. The speed would have been much higher had the
passenger not been freaking out the whole time asking him to please keep
the tail end in at a managable level of slip angle.
Pretty much stock aside from a cat back Exhaust and an open air filter and fuzion HRi
tires with about half life left on them.

Cadwell Park Track Day 31/07/10 - On-board Toyota MR2 Mk1 Race Car
My final run on this track day at Cadwell Park on 31/07/10 in a Toyota MR2
Mk1 race car which was pretty busy as it was getting towards the end of the
day. The laps were actually fairly scruffy - running wide a few times and
locking up into the hairpin, much to the amusement of my passenger, Ian :)
My previous run mid afternoon was much neater but I only remembered to
mount the camera at the end of the day!
