I went in this with my 3.5v8, but naturally, the distributor filled with water and I drowned it. Doh !
Land Rover Defender with 490 bhp

This is a heavily modifed Land Rover Defender, Modified by JE Engineering, using their Paris-Dakar Rally and RAID experience. The standard engine is replaced by a 490 bhp supercharged v6, which justs fits into the Land Rover Defender engine bay. In a straight line from traffic lights this classic example of automotive upgrade will out accelerate most performance supercars, making this Land Rover Defender a real wolf in sheeps clothing.
The suspension and brakes are modified to take the extra power, the Exhaust is tuned as well and wider tyres are fitted, all making this car a lot better on the road than the standard Land Rover Defender.
The gear box is replaced with a competition-bred 6 speed automatic transmission, necessary to deliver the power of the engine to all 4 wheels, and this makes this Land Rover Defender easy to drive around town as well.
And the final step has been to replace the standard Land Rover Defender's interior, with a soft luxury 2 tone leather interior, better seats and a vastly improved front dashboard.this is a Land Rover Defeneder like you have never seen before.

Mainly for the sound of my v8 running but with some pictures of the rebuild - TURN UP the sound, engine is a 4.5 built by JE Engineerining in a landrover 90 that im rebuilding from a new chassis up, check out my other vids, video up soon of it on the road :)
Land Rover Discovery V8 Muscle, Silencer Removal, Before and After Sound
A before and after replacing the centre silencer on my 1995 Discovery 3.9 V8i. Also a quick 0-60 test. Meaty!
Only modification to Exhaust system so far is the silencer removal... next up the catalytic converters will be chopped out, and the rear silencer replaced by a cherry bomb or similar.
If I keep the vehicle, it's likely the headers will be replaced in favour of some tubular extractor four-into-one items.
But for now, it sounds good -- definitely a V8, but not too anti-social!

Just a few pics of the last part of the rebuild and the finished product, the last few pics are from the photo shoot for LRO magazine (soon to be in the magazine)
Engine spec - Engine is a JE Engineering built 4.5 V8 (painted yellow), they call it their clubman engine but it has had a few mods since then it has a new block with a modified steel crank, je101 high lift cam, stage 3 racing heads, vernier timing gears, edelbrock/Webber 4 barrel carburettor, modified distributer, magnecore ht leads, denso high temp spark plugs, Jan speed tubular manifolds and Y-branch, custom rear Exhaust in 3" stainless twin exit. JE Engineering think this setup may be around 270bhp (although this is not proven)
This defender 90 is NOT slow :D
