2002-2005 BA Falcon GT-P Test Drive
Here I tested a circa 2002-2005 BA Falcon GT-P. As a result of the mob down at FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) this car's quite nice for the price. But, as always, it's built to a price NOT a quality. More attention to detail is needed, better material should be used for the interior, stripes should be a part of the duco and the engine was running out or puff just when it needed to get cracking. Overall, not too bad of a car. It's suitable as a daily driver in our country and will happily go almost anywhere you need to in Oz. Plenty of boot space, can be set up for towing if required. The brakes were ok, not as good as you'd need for a track day or an arvo of hooning through city streets with all the starting and stopping. Clutch's crap and likely to smoke like an American cowboy should you choose to do a heap of drags in quick succession. Overall, though, nice car, for one almost Aussie built. Certainly more Oz blood sweat and tears then any Commodore to date, but not enough for me to call it an Australian-built car, just some of it and mostly assembled in Oz.
