Honda J Series V6 Valve Adjustment (Part 2) -EricTheCarGuy
Visit me at: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/ Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnyqVg3nWRk Forum discussion about this video: http://www.ericthecarguy.com/component/kunena/18-the-ericthecarguy-video-fo rum/33925-honda-j-series-v6-valve-adjustment-videos?Itemid=0#33925 Well here is part 2 of the J Series Valve Adjustment video. This is where the 'meat' is and we cover how to set up each cylinder as well as the adjustment itself. Remember this is a 'fine tuning' operation and really isn't meant to correct a problem unless the valves had been misadjusted in the first place. Also keep in mind that it's better to get the adjustment loose rather than tight so try to keep your adjustment on the loose side because if you get them too tight this can actually damage the valves, if they're too loose the worse you'll suffer is a lot of valve train noise. Either way try to do it right the first time because it's a lot of work to get back in there and readjust everything. I think you'll do fine should you attempt to do this job just take your time and double check everything. Here are links to the videos I mentioned in the movie that might also be helpful if you're servicing one of these J Series engines. BEST DIY Honda Acura V6 J Series Timing Belt Replacement How To PART 2 Bundys Garage
Here is the second part of the Honda / Acura V6 Timing Belt Replacement video. Here is a link to Part 1: http://youtu.be/lEg9_OCas_w PART 2 of 2 DIY: Honda / Acura Timing Belt Replacement. Step-by-Step Detailed instructions on how to complete the job, safely, accurately, and efficiently on your wallet. Detailed instructions from bolt sizes, special tools, torque specs, how to break the crankshaft pulley bolt loose, plus so much more. - Timing belts transfer rotational power from the crankshaft to the camshafts, which in turn open and close the intake and Exhaust valves. - Timing belts have perpendicular ridges, or “cogs” that synchronize with gears on the crankshaft and camshafts to ensure that they rotate in precise timing. - With time and miles, the belts can stretch and the cogs can separate from the belt, negatively affecting valve timing and possible catastrophic engine failure. - If the belt breaks, the engine will immediately stop running, leaving you stranded and with a large repair bill.
