He drove his new 910-hp Monster Sport Suzuki SX4 Hill Climb Special on Falken WildPeak A/T tires, the powerful new line of all-terrain, all-season tires Falken launched this past April. Following Exhaustive tests in a Japanese wind tunnel facility, Monster's 2010 Pikes Peak race car underwent extensive aerodynamic changes to better adapt to the modified road surface on the race to the clouds, which assumed a smoother tarmac and less gravel than last year. Thinning air ascending the mountain robs most motors of their power by 30 or more percent, but the increase in horsepower over last year's race car helped push the driver forward.

Porsche 911 GT3 RSR 2011 By Orbit Racing
The Porsche GT3 RSR is a track-only car enjoyed by drivers working events like the Le Mans 24 Hours, the FIA World Endurance Championship, the Le Mans Series, the American Le Mans Series, and the International GT Open. Only a slim margin of the people wanting to drive the $689,580 GT3 RSR will actually get the chance to do it, and Orbit Racing of South Florida decided that needed to change so they transformed it into a street legal car. Well, kind of. The man behind Orbit Racing just so happened to own a Porsche GT3 RS so he made the adjustments necessary to turn it into a GT3 RSR that is perfectly legal for any street in the USA. As far as we can tell, the car uses the same 450 HP 3.8-liter flat-six engine, but the ECU has been programmed to run with the RSR Exhaust. The tuner also made some modifications to the suspensions and added some RSR bodywork to complete the look. The vehicle was then painted in an aqua blue metallic paint finish and is said to be receiving some cool graphics in the coming weeks. The interior was left untouched because a racer's interior isn't exactly comfortable for street driving. Orbit Racing of South Florida just began testing the street-ready Porsche GT3 RSR to make sure all of the components are running smoothly. We don't know how much a build like this costs, but the tuner may just be able to make it up if all goes well.

Bratři Mičánkové dojeli s rozbitým sklem v Mostě absolutně druzí Výborný výkon podložený i pořadím na stupních vítězů v absolutní klasifikaci odvedli v sobotním vytrvalostním tříhodinovém závodě mezinárodního mistrovství republiky v Mostě obě posádky týmu Mičánek Motorsport. Na druhém místě za vítěznou posádkou Malchárek, Vorba a Hynek Charouz obsadili při stejném počtu 100 okruhů Jiří a Tomáš Mičánkové a na třetím místě skončila další posádka Mičánkova týmu Martin Jerman a Tomáš Pivoda. V divizi 4 do 3500 ccm vyhráli Mičánkové před Jermanem s Pivodou. Tímto úspěchem si bratři Mičánkové pojistili vedení v celkové klasifikaci. Úspěch je o to cennější, že velkou část závodu jeli bratři Mičánkové s rozbitým předním sklem. "Díru způsobil kus roztržené pneumatiky, který odletěl od vozu Ferrari, které jelo před námi. Byl to hodně nepříjemný okamžik," popsal situaci Jiří Mičánek junior, jenž v tu dobu vůz pilotoval. Kromě menší díry v okně totiž přední sklo popraskalo. Při zastávce v depu komisaři rozbitý vůz prohlédli a po nezbytné kontrole nechali Porsche 997 RSR pokračovat v závodě. "Připadal jsem si trochu jako v tanku. Výhled byl dost zmenšený. Ale jsem rád, že jsme mohli pokračovat v závodě a dojeli absolutně druzí," poznamenal Tomáš Mičánek.
