Ford GT40 MKI

An interesting history, originally a street GT40, then the Gulf Oil Company wanted to go racing and turned this GT40 into a race car. It raced at Daytona and Sebring. Its not in the traditional gulf colors either. Note the rear indicator light on the left rear fender (in orange) and the top mounted green/red lights on the roof (first time i've seen one that had these).

Ford GT40 - 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans
Wonderful period video from brake pad manufacturer Ferodo on the 1968 Le Mans race from the standpoint of John Wyer's Gulf Oil Ford GT40 team, who won the race. This is five-time LeMans winner Derek Bell behind the wheel of a 1966 model GT40 Mk.I built by Pathfinder Motorsports doing a demonstration run at Sebring International Raceway's 24-hour course. Derek, also a former Formula 1 driver, is driving with a passenger who won a charity demo drive. Filmed during the HSR Sebring Fall Classic Races on December 6, 2009, this GT40 won the US Vintage Grand Prix in its class and later won the New York Governor's Cup Race. It is a continuation model built by Superformance and is chassis number GT40P/2090. It is registered in the Safir GT40 and Shelby Registries.
