An interesting history, originally a street GT40, then the Gulf Oil Company wanted to go racing and turned this GT40 into a race car. It raced at Daytona and Sebring. Its not in the traditional gulf colors either. Note the rear indicator light on the left rear fender (in orange) and the top mounted green/red lights on the roof (first time i've seen one that had these).

start up of this unique Turbine Experimental Race car made in the late
1960s. It had success. (for a Turbine powered race car - considering the
other Turbine special race cars were 1 race only cars [like the indy 500]
and didn't do road races, much less finish 1st and 3rd a few times)
Ford GT40 - 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans
Wonderful period video from brake pad manufacturer Ferodo on the 1968 Le
Mans race from the standpoint of John Wyer's Gulf Oil Ford GT40 team, who
won the race. The first 4 minutes shows a high speed in-car lap around Le
Mans narrated by Stirling Moss. Wonderful video with footage of Alfa Romeo
33s, Porsche 908s, Matras, etc....

GT40 Replica MK1 engine bay 030109
A video, using my new Camcorder for the first time, of the engine bay of my
replica GT40 MK1, which I'm hoping to have completed by next summer (2009).
See more at http://www.gt40mk1.plus.com
2nd May 2009. I've just had an email from YouTube informing me that this
video has been blocked in various countries because it infringes copyright
laws on the music track from the Sugababes, which you can here in the
background playing on BBC Radio 2. Well, how petty can people be? I didn't
even realise that the camcorder was recording the music from the radio
which was on at the time as I filmed. I just hope that the owner of the
horse in the stable next door doesn't slap a copyright order on me for her
horse neighing in the background! Oh, we are such a happy bunch.
