One of the ultimate street/strip brawlers is this 1969 Ford Torino Cobra. Packed between the shock towers is a 428-4v CJ Ram Air V8 backed up by a 4 speed close ratio manual transmission out back is a 3.50 traction-lok differential. Staggered shocks were standard affair on this Torino Cobra. This car has few options but the power front disc brakes and in dash tach are all it needs. This Candyapple red Torino is ready to roll anywhere someone points it. Included is a Marti Report to document the car. The motor has less than 2,000 miles on it since it was rebuilt. Ford 428 Cobra Jet with dual quads. Stroked to 462 cubes with a Survival Motorsports "Prison Break" 4.250 stroked kit. Hydraulic roller cam with .598 lift. Compression at 10.8:1, running factory iron 428CJ heads with modest port work and bigger valves. Pump premium 93 octane unleaded. Engine made 543 horsepower at 5600RPM and 561 torque with a dead flat torque band from 4000 to 4800. Idles with a nice chop at 800. No drama. No computer generated dream numbers. No unsubstantiated claims. No hype. Just plain old gut wrenching FE horsepower from the guys that do these engines every day.

Well, we finally got some dirt out at our track as were able to make this nice double. I forget the size, it was pretty decent. My poor old CR didn't have the suspension like the newer ones so landings were kind of hard, but it was still a good time.
