In fact the Land Rover has been navigating the toughest terrain for decades. So can the 2012 Land Rover LR4 adapt to suburban life? Well the Land Rover LR4 is very comfortable, it is easy to drive, has plenty of power, and can seat up to 7 passengers. The base price on the 2012 Land Rover LR4 is $48,900 with the top of the line HSE LUX model going for $58,995. The 2012 Land Rover LR4 is powered by a 5.0 liter V-8 direct injected engine that produces 375 horsepower and 375 lb-ft. of torque. Power is transferred to the wheels through a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission. The Land Rover LR4 sports full time AWD. Fuel economy is 12 MPG in the city and 17 MPG on the highway. The AWD system is pretty technologically advanced which is why Land Rover SUVs are considered the best off-road vehicles the world over. The LR4 features Hill Descent Control which allows the vehicle to navigate steep terrain without the driver needing to use the brake or accelerator. The Gradient Release Control also works with the HDC to provide a smooth pace downhill. The Electronic Traction Control supplies power to the wheel that needs it most in the even of slippage. At each corner of the SUV there is a sophisticated air suspension. This is used to either lower the LR4 for street use or to raise the SUV almost 5 inches for maximum ground clearance while off-road. Dynamic Stability Control improves the LR4's handing while on the road. Tall SUVs are known to roll over but the Roll Stability Control System works to keep all 4 wheels on the road. The 2012 Land Rover LR4 has a towing capacity of 7,700 lbs. To help prevent trailer sway the LR4 has something called Trailer Stability Assist to help correct any towing problems. Besides the great off-road capabilities the 2012 Land Rover LR4 comes packed with tons of luxury features and option on the inside. The seats are wrapped in high-end leather as are many of the interior surfaces. You can choose between a Walnut trim or a Black Lacquer trim. The driver sits in an optimum position so that they have a commanding view of the road. The huge sunroof is called the Alpine Roof and provides tons of light to all the passengers. A 7-inch touch screen navigation unit and Harmon/Kardon stereo system are wonderful features. The 2012 Land Rover LR4 love to hit the trail and take on tough off-road challenges.
