HOT ROD's Newest Project Vehicle
Editor Kinnan recently drove to Longmont, Colorado to fetch the latest "must have" car we found on eBay, a '52 Dodge Wayfarer. It's covered in surface rust (we like to call it patina) and the floors and rockers will need some street signs riveted over the holes, but it's all there. Our grand plan, if we ever actually get to it, is to stick a stone-dead reliable drivetrain in it, with a stereo and air conditioning, and drive the thing every day. In Los Angeles, you spend half the day in the car so it might was well be something cool, yet reliability is key too since it would really suck to have it die in rush hour freeway traffic. An LS motor is a no-brainer, but that seems wrong with this car. Tell us what you think we should stick in it, but remember that it has to be 100% reliable.
