Volkswagen Golf MkV R32 straight run. Narrow angle V6 3.2L engine had one of the best and most timely sonorous Exhaust systems ever put on a production car. When will Volkswagen do a repeat performance of this truly epic hot hatch... The current R class lacks character with its muffled, though hugely powerful, 4 pot motor.
VW R32 on track at Mid Ohio October 2009
2004 VW Vorschlaghammer R32 at NOR PCA event October 4 2009, a short portion of the Instructors run group. Video and data from Racelogic Video Vbox (still figuring out how to configure it). Track conditions cool and dry but Friday and Saturday were quite wet. Not a lot of grip but fun none the less. The red car at the beginning is my friend John's supercharged and stroked C5 Z06 (~600 rwhp/580 rwtq). We were having fun until I got caught behind a black Cayman and John gapped me. I am hitting the rev limiter in the back straight entering turn 7 so I am lifting way early. The car has been modified by Switzer Performance Innovation (SPI) and we need to bump the rev limiter up 200 rpm or so. If we can do that the car is geared to see 150 mph entering turn 7. Woohoo!

Test Drive Supercar Showdown 2008 - VW Golf R32
Here Test Drive shows examples of some beaut sport cars available in Australia and pits them against eachother in the Supercar Showdown. Though, I couldn't really call any of them 'Supercars'. What do you think?
2008 VW R32 on the full course at MMC.
in car video of my 08 VW R32 doing the full course at Monticello Motor Park, in NY state on 06/15/2010. Street tires, hawk HP+ pads, and an APR chip, not the fastest on the track, but fun. I am glad I was able to run the course over 2 years with the Audi NEQ as it is now closed to the public and HPDE's. Great course, just nothing nice about the Monticello area at this time, hope the main street gets paved finally!! oh ya, flew over one day in the helicopter and saw a Bugatti Veyron ripping around the track, it was ripping on the straight!! DSG rules.....

The gulf R32 on the basis of the gulf V was available since September, 2005. It was the only 6 cylinder under the gulf V models. 184 kW (250 HP) and 320 nm of torque of the newer R32 engine were transferred -- like already with the gulf IV R32 -- by the four-wheel drive 4INFLECTION on the street. A manual 6-way gear was production, optionally the direct transmission DSG was offered. The maximum speed amounted to 250 km/h. From a standing position the gulf V needed R32 6.5 seconds on 100 km/h (with DSG: 6.2 seconds). Already in the base version this gulf was equipped with numerous functions like climate control (Climatronic), board computer, anti-skid system, electronic stability programme, Bi-xenon light, brake assistant and 345 mm of brake discs in front. Nevertheless, the improved standard equipment of the R32 also let the unloaded weight rise which lies with 1590 kg nearly 450 kg higher than with the Basic of the gulf V.
