Yet another Exelixis Motorsport extreme project is loose on the streets.
Maybe it doesn’t look that much for the untrained eye but we like it like
For some people a Golf Mk4 R32 is nothing more than an old car that said
his piece and now is resting in the history of the Golf models.
This was not the case for the owner of this R32 who decided to prove a
point by trusting us to make something unique but keeping the original
looks and the daily driver capability.
Of course the only solution to pump-up the engine with some real power was
to convert it to turbo.
Therefore we started to develop our own recipe for this conversion in which
we included among other things: JE custom pistons ceramic coated, Carrillo
rods, CatCams custom camshafts, Precision 6766 turbo, 2 x Tial 38mm wastegates, 1000cc injectors,
2 x Walbro 255 fuel pumps, Tilton carbon tri-disc clutch kit.
As expected also the original ECU of the car needed to be changed whith
something more capable of taking care of the tasks assigned to it , so we
chose a Syvecs stand-alone ECU that was programmed by ZOD Development and
it offers the driver the option to choose between several maps for
different power levels and different fuels (pump/race).
Considering the fact that a complete car doesn’t mean only a powerful
engine but also good handling and braking capability the car was fitted
with a full set of Powerflex bushes, a KW V2 coilover kit and a Forge
Motorsport front big brake kit (330mm).
To summarize the story of this project the final numbers are 720Hp and
772Nm on pump gas .
If you think this is just another project good for cover pictures and shows
you got another thing coming because this car has already been driven to
drag events and track days and this will keep happening.
