( http://www.TFLcar.com ) The 2012 Venza is Toyota's interpretation of the modern station wagon. Once upon a time it used to be that family haulers came in very limited flavors but today family vehicle buyers can choose from mini van, SUV's Crossovers and even the Toyota Venza. Think of the Venza the offspring of a Crossover that fell in love and married a station wagon. The result is a roomy, sleek, buff and low family hauler with 20 inch wheels. The Venza's base 182-horsepower, 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine is just adequate to haul around the big-boned wagon. The bigger and more powerful 268-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 does a much better job when mated to the 6 speed automatic turning the Venza into a more exciting, if not quite fun, car to drive.
The Venza offers solid plat form for a comfortable, well dampened and relaxed ride. However if you are looking for a thrilling drive to work when the kids are at school the Venza is not your cup of tea. Solid performance...yes. Carving the back roads...no.

New Toyota Auris 2013 - Which? first drive
http://whi.ch/ToyotaAuris2013 Toyota's new Auris has big boots to fill. It's a direct descendent of the Corolla, the world's bestselling car and the model that earned Toyota its reputation for reliability.
The five-door Auris hatchback goes on sale first, with a Touring Sports estate due in July 2013. Prices start at £14,500, although Toyota UK expects the hybrid -- priced from £19,995 -- to be its bestseller.
Four engines are offered: 1.33- and 1.6-litre petrol, 1.4 diesel and the hybrid, which uses the same petrol/electric drivetrain as the Prius. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard, with an optional auto 'box (£1,000) on the 1.6 petrol. The hybrid comes with a 'one-speed' CVT automatic.
Medium hatchbacks are the bread and butter of the UK car market, so the Toyota's rivals include some familiar faces: Ford Focus, Renault Megane, Vauxhall Astra and Volkswagen Golf.
At the top end of this segment, the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series and Mercedes A-class offer premium badges at premium prices. And at the lower end, cars like the Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai i30 and Kia Cee'd tempt buyers with long warranties and plenty of standard equipment.
Finally, let's not forget compact MPVs and 4x4s, such as Toyota's own Verso and RAV4.

2013 Toyota RAV4 - DRIVING [HD]
The all-new 2013 RAV4 crossover SUV made its world debut today at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show.
For 2013, RAV4 will provide a number of powertrain technologies that help deliver an engaging driving experience. It will feature Toyota's 2.5-liter four-cylinder, which will produce 176 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 172 ft. lbs. of torque at 4,100 rpm. The optional V6 of the previous-generation RAV4 will be discontinued.
Replacing the previous four-speed automatic will be a six-speed transmission with Sequential Shift. First and second gear ratios will be optimized for around-town performance. To keep engine revs lower at highway speeds and enhance fuel mileage, fifth and sixth gears will be overdrives.
RAV4 front-wheel-drive models have received EPA- estimated fuel efficiency ratings of 24 mpg city/31 highway, while all-wheel-drive models are EPA-estimated at 22 mpg city/29 mpg highway. A new Eco mode is designed to promote more efficient driving thus helping to enhance fuel efficiency.
