1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible Suicide Doors Entourage Classic Car for Sale in MI Vanguard
http://www.ClassicCarBuyingSecrets.com Click now for an instant download on "How to Avoid the 7 Deadliest Mistakes of Buying a Classic Car Online"! The Lincoln Continental was produced from 1939 to 1948 and again from 1956 to 2002. The Continental was a distinctively styled, highly equipped, luxury car. Its name conveyed prestige. This generation of Continental is favored by collectors and has appeared in many motion pictures, such as The Matrix, The Last Action Hero, and the Inspector Gadget films. It has also appeared in the television series Pushing Daisies, and recently in the opening sequence of the television series Entourage. The fourth generation Continental's most recognized trademark, front opening rear doors, was a purely practical decision. The doors were hinged from the rear when Lincoln engineers kept hitting the doors with their feet when examining the back seats. The suicide doors were to become the best-known feature of 1960s Lincolns. The Continental was the first postwar four-door convertible from a major U.S. manufacturer. Vanguard Motor Sales is proud to present this, two owner, 1966 Lincoln Continental Convertible. Let me just say, if you are tired of being a spectator at the car shows, and you are ready to get some attention, this is the car for you. With the suicide doors, brand new Gangster white wall tires mounted on the original wheels, and a power hide-away convertible top that works without hesitation, you will be turning heads wherever you go. This triple black Continental has a straight and solid body. The gaps and panels line up perfectly, the doors open and shut without and problems. The paint isn't perfect, but it is nice and shines up great. The chrome is in average condition. The undercarriage is solid, as you can see from the pictures. There aren't any holes in the pans or frame rot. The squared-off grille houses the headlights, and sits above the chrome bumper, which features the parking lights and front turn signals. The taillights are fitted with a ribbed chrome grille on each side, and set in the rear bumper. Pop the hood and you'll find the 462ci big block motor, with 80k original miles. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly, and with the power steering, this boat practically floats down the road. Power brakes are another nice feature that really makes driving this convertible a true pleasure. Inside this convertible you will find the original black leather interior. The walnut-paneling on the doors ads to the prestige look. Front factory seat belts with retractors, a tilt wheel, and both power seat and windows make for one comfortable ride. The A/C is currently inoperable, but who needs A/C when you can put the top down? Product breakdown for the 1966 Lincoln Continental consisted of 65% sedans, 29% coupes, and just under 6% for the four-door convertible. Total sales were close to 55,000 in 1966, which means only around 3,200 of these 4 door convertibles were made. How many do you think are left? This is an amazing opportunity to own one of these luxury automobiles for a reasonable price. It runs great, drives straight down the road and will be a great cruiser for summer nights. Don't miss out on this opportunity, call today! 248-974-9513 www.vanguardmotorsales.com

This gave it powertrain and suspension commonality with the Mercury Grand Marquis and the Ford LTD Crown Victoria (later the Crown Victoria). This design made them durable even in the rough conditions taxi and livery cars are subjected to, and easy and cheap to repair when they did suffer damage.[3] Town Cars are typically operated in commercial service for at least 400,000 miles.[3] Its large dimensions made it the largest car in production in North America. From 1997 to 2011, the Town Car was the longest car (but not the heaviest) built in the Western Hemisphere, measuring nearly 18 feet (5.49 m) in length for a standard Town Car and 18.5 feet (5.64 m) for an L Edition.[4 Lincoln is also believed to be preparing a true Town Car successor on a rear-wheel drive platform to rival the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7-series The Town Car underwent a minor exterior facelift for the 1995 model year. Changes to the exterior included smaller, clear headlights as well as additional running lights in the rear. Larger door mirrors were body-colored (formerly chrome), and were moved slightly forward on the door itself. Updated bumpers front and rear, new body side moldings, and the deletion of the small fixed window in the rear doors completed the exterior changes. The antenna was removed from the outside of the car and integrated into the rear window.[16] 1995 also saw the introduction of a new steering wheel, which was used in all Panther-based sedans from 1998 to 2004.[16] In addition to the cruise control buttons,. Also introduced in 1995 was a new digital dash layout (replacing the unit used since 1993) that featured a more italicized look to the readouts, while the exterior temperature readout moved from the dash cluster to the climate control panel. A "miles to go" trip computer feature was added. Dual power recliners with lumbar support—as well as a three-position driver's seat and mirror memory function became standard (formerly optional) on Signature Series which could be assigned to the keyless entry remotes as well as the up to four personal keyless entry codes. Heated seats were a new option, and door panel switches now featured (slight) illumination from a lamp located below the interior door handle. Power door lock switches were back-lit, and were mounted high up on the driver and passenger door panels. The fuel door release (previously mounted in the center dash panel) and trunk release button moved from inside the glove compartment to the lower driver's side door panel. Similar to the previous year, Signature and Cartier models featured dual clamshell storage armrests up front with cassette storage, coin holder, and an optional Cell phone. The 1997 Cartier models held dual cup holders in the rear center armrest, and offered lighted vanity mirrors in the headliner for the two outboard rear seating positions. With the demise of the Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham after 1996, the Town Car became the last of its kind: the last American full-size, rear-wheel drive luxury car. The demise of the Fleetwood also made the Town Car the largest mass-produced car available in North America. I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)

1966 Lincoln Continental Commercial
A farce of a commercial featuring soviet men enjoying the luxary the car.

The History of Lincoln
Henry Leland, a former manager of the Cadillac division of General Motors, and his son, Wilfred Leland, formed the Lincoln Motor Company in August, 1917. Leland named the new company after Abraham Lincoln, his hero and for whom he cast a vote in 1864. Lincoln's first source of revenue came from assembling Liberty aircraft engines, using cylinders supplied by Ford Motor Company, to fulfill World War I government contracts. After the war, the Lincoln factories were retooled to manufacture luxury automobiles. Ford Motor Company purchased the Lincoln Motor Company in 1922, but Lincoln continued to operate as a somewhat separate company from Ford through early 1940. On April 30, 1940 the Lincoln Motor Company became the Lincoln Division of Ford Motor Company At the direction of Henry's son Edsel, in 1923 several body styles were introduced, that included two- and three-window, four-door sedans and a phaeton that accommodated four passengers. They also offered a two-passenger roadster and a seven-passenger touring sedan and limousine, which was sold for $5,200. A sedan, limo, cabriolet and town car were also offered by coachbuilders Fleetwood, Derham and Dietrich, and a second cabriolet was offered by coachbuilder Brunn. As the brand grew it developed several memorable vehicles, the Zephyr, the Continental Mark II, the Lincoln Continental and recently the ubiquitous Town Car. 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII Seafoam Treatment
I seafoamed my 1996 Lincoln Mark VIII today. I haven't done it in a while and it shows. There was a lot of smoke this time. The white '97 Mark VIII LSC next to it is much cleaner. The last time I seafoamed it, there was very little smoke. According to the descriptions on the can, Seafoam is supposed to break up carbon deposits and clean the induction system, valves, tops of pistons, etc. It is also supposed to get rid of the rotten egg smell associated with clogged catalytic converters. Fortunately, my cats are still in pretty good shape. I don't know if Seafoam really works, but I know my engine runs smoother after a treatment. And it sure is fun to watch! Note: Eventually, I'm going to make a more detailed step-by-step video with someone else holding the camera. This was obviously done very quickly. Next time, I plan to use 3 bottles. One for the crankcase, one for the intake, and one for the gas tank. Now, you've got to remember to change your oil IMMEDIATELY after seafoaming your crankcase. Or else the stuff will destroy your seals and gaskets. Running it through the oil is like high performance Motor Flush. It cleans the crap outta your engine block.
