GTO 2004 part 1 - Cool Cars, Hot Cars, Fast Cars
A presentation about the controversial 04 GTO! - http://www.cool-cars-video.com - GTO 2004 part 1 - Cool Cars, Hot Cars, Fast Cars This video review was made when the 2004 GTO first hit the streets. You would think all the modern technology used to develop and bring a car to market would inspire forward-thinking ideas. But in the the beginning of the 21st century "retro" was the buzzword in automotive circles and GM was looking backward to it's days of glory with the GTO. One of the biggest controversies about the GTO was it's bland styling. The original GTO, making it's debut in 1964, was the first over-powered midsized automobile marketed as a street car for young buyers. There was nothing especially flashy about it. The 2004 GTO properly commemorates the simplicity of a fast car without dramatic styling cues. But Pontiac was clearly targeting older buyers this time around. All the more reason for the new GTO to demonstrate a conservative profile. To describe the 2004 GTO as fast would almost be an insult. The new GTO is a no apologies performance car suitable for daily driving. Almost a decade later, the GTO still holds it's own against the modern muscle that's hitting the streets. Perhaps the 21st Century GTO will earn legendary status after all. Maybe it already has. http://www.coolcarsvideo.com General Motor's F-body design have been a staple of Pontiac and Chevrolet since 1967. Originally intended to compete against the Ford Mustang as an affordable sports car for young buyers. The F-body platforms were introduced during the muscle car boom, they continued for thirty five years as monikers for exciting style and raw energy. But sales began slipping during the mid-nineties as sticker prices spiraled out of reach of the intended market. The F-body had become an expensive automobile, obtainable by a predominately older demographic. Rather than cut cost to regain the intended market, General Motors decided to re-envision a car more appealing to mature buyers. In 2003 the F-body was gone and no low end performance cars were offered by GM. But the buzz was already on about a different kind of sports coupe for 2004. General Motors was about to embark on the retro wave with the return of the Pontiac GTO.

65 Pontiac GTO Convertible Video 389 Tri Power 4-Speed Classic Muscle Car Chevelle SS
65 Pontiac GTO Convertible 389 V8 Tri Power Coupe Original Classic Muscle Car LeMans Tempest Review http://www.1ownercarguy.com Here is one of my personal cars that I have had for many years. I bought this car when I was 18. I love this car and really want to keep it but am deciding to sell it. I just love the look of this car. With the top up or down. This 65 GTO is clean and just needs a little tinkering around with. It has the factory 389 in it but I took the tri-power carb set up off and put a nice 4 barrel carb on it. I still have the tri power and it goes with the car but it was just impossible to keep adjusted right so I put something on that you didn't have to worry about. The car runs great but it does need a couple little things before you start driving it around. I had it painted about 17 years ago and it just sat around mostly outside and the paint got a little faded in a couple spots. Nothing major and the car still looks great. It has the black convertible top that goes down by itself with a little help but will not come back up. Is in good condition and just shows a little wear. I have a new front bumper that goes on the car just don't have the brackets which I'm looking for. The interior is very clean and besides new carpet is all original. The front seats have a few cracks but other then that look great. This is a rare classic car that is nice and just needs a little work to be the ultimate beauty. 1964 Pontiac GTO 455 V8 Pro Street - Extremely Nice - Gateway Classic Cars
I thought you'd like a look at his awesome Pro Street 1964 Pontiac GTO. This car was painted back in the early 90's, but still looks nearly perfect. It has been really meticulously maintained over the years. It's powered by a very stout 455 Pontiac V8, that has been bored .030 over to a 461. It's topped by a polished Edelbrock intake and a Holley 4 BBL carb. As you can hear in the video, it's plenty healthy too. All that power is sent through a turbo 400 automatic, with a 3500 rpm stall converter, to a narrowed Dana 60 rear with 3.73 gears and Moser axles. The attention to detail on this car is really amazing. This one really is about as clean as they come. I hope you find it interesting, thanks for taking a look! 70 Double Blown GTO
My 1970 GTO with two blowers. It's 474ci Pontiac engine with a 8-71 blower on top of a 6-71 blower. This is from the last day of being double blown. I'm going to one single 8-71 blower and going racing. The front clip was removed to make it easier to work on. The reason for the double blowers was not as a power enhancement like many ASSume. I stacked the blowers to have a car that stood out in the crowd. Most Pro Street cars were starting to blend together. If you seen one, you had seen them all. That wasn't the case with this GTO. Al someone had to say was "The double blower GTO" and people knew which car. I was told it couldn't be done, so I attempted it and it worked. It stayed that way for almost 2 years. I knew a twin turbo setup would make more HP. I knew I could have run a 14-71 blower and made more power. That wasn't the point. I wanted to be different than the other cars in the parking lot, I did that now it's time to ove on. For all those people who don't understand why, I'm not going to try and explain it to you anymore. Get over it. I didn't expect EVERYONE to love it. But you won't forget it.
