BMW Serie 1
La segunda generación del Serie 1 está disponible desde el mes de julio del 2011 en su versión de cinco puertas, y a partir de septiembre de 2012 en tres puertas. Actualmente hay disponibles cinco versiones de gasolina, entre 102 y 320 cv, y cuatro diésel, que van de 116 a 218 cv. Todos los motores de cuatro cilindros han sido renovados. Como mejoras, cabe destacar el aumento del espacio interior y una suspensión más cómoda, sin perder agilidad. Gracias al incremento de sus dimensiones, el maletero pasa de 330 a 360 litros.

BMW i8 deliveries to customers starting in June. Plug-in hybrid system developed and produced by the BMW Group represents the latest development stage of Efficient Dynamics; debut for three-cylinder petrol engine with BMW TwinPower turbo technology, displacement: 1.5 litres, output: 170 kW/231 hp, maximum torque: 320 Nm (236 lb-ft); power sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic gearbox; model-specific hybrid synchronous electric motor, output: 96 kW/131 hp, maximum torque: 250 Nm (184 lb-ft); power channelled through the front wheels via a two-stage automatic transmission; lithium-ion high-voltage battery with liquid cooling and usable capacity of 5 kWh. Combination of BMW TwinPower turbo and BMW eDrive technology plus intelligent energy management produce system output of 266 kW/362 hp (max. torque: 570 Nm / 420 lb-ft) and give the BMW i8 the performance characteristics of a pure-bred sports car (0 -- 100 km/h / 62 mph in 4.4 seconds) combined with fuel economy and emissions figures more familiar from a small car (EU fuel consumption: 2.5 litres per 100 km / 113 mpg imp); "glued-to-the-road" AWD driving experience with torque distribution geared towards optimised dynamics. Driving Experience Control switch and eDrive button allow driver to choose from five driving modes; range of up to 35 kilometres (22 miles) on electric power alone and a top speed of 120 km/h (75 mph); COMFORT mode offers optimum balance between dynamics and efficiency; combined range in everyday conditions: over 500 kilometres (310 miles); SPORT mode with ultra-intense Boost function provided by the electric motor; ECO PRO mode can be used in both all-electric mode and hybrid mode. Sophisticated chassis technology featuring a double-wishbone front axle and a five-link rear axle; Electric Power Steering; Dynamic Damper Control comes as standard; 20-inch light-alloy wheels are standard, carbon wheels are optional. Emotion-led visual impression based around established BMW i design language; classical sports car proportions and fresh interpretation of BMW design features; doors open upwards like wings; clean lines, plus surface design (external and internal) based on the layering principle; full-LED headlights as standard, innovative laser headlights -- unique worldwide -- available as an option. BMW 1M Akrapovic Ride & Killer Sound : Absolute Beast
During Top Marques Monaco 2014, I had a ride in that insane BMW 1M. Not any 1M : this one has been tuned to 420hp and fitted with an Akrapovic Exhaust. The sounds need no description, it's just really loud and beautiful. Akrapovic doesn't make just noise like other Exhaust makers, they make beautiful sounds. With 420hp and a manual gearbox, this little BMW 1M really is a driver's car. Powerful and loud, it handles very well! This was probably my favourite car of the 2014 Top Marques. Desportivamente José Pedro Fontes foi o vencedor, mas acabou por ter a vida mais facilitada devido ao tempo perdido por Amador Vidal, num Volkswagen Proto (mecânica de Lancer Evo X), na super-especial. O espanhol ainda tentou recuperar o tempo perdido, mas a experiência do piloto do Porsche e a arma que tripula foram suficientes para obter um excelente vitória. Porém, esta luta pela vitória foi um extra para esta prova, já que entre os que realmente estão inscritos no Campeonato Norte de Ralis, o piloto vianense João Traila levou a melhor sobre os experientes Fernando Peres e Vitor Pascoal, todos eles em Mitsubishi. Traila só levantou mesmo o pé nas derradeiras especiais, quando viu que tinha o triunfo na mão entre os concorrentes do CRN, mas Peres e pascoal lutaram bastante até final da prova, com a vantagem a ir para o piloto / dentista. Com este resultado Vitor Pascoal continua a liderar nas contas do CNR. Excelente registo para João Ruivo ao terminar no 6º lugar com o pequeno Peugeot 206 GTi, ficando na frente de Luís Mota (Lancer), Joaquim Alves (Clio R3), Eduardo Veiga (Escort RS) e Elias Barros (Fiesta R5). Introduction Based on the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept car shown a few years ago, the 2014 BMW i8 represents the German automaker's vision of a high-performance plug-in hybrid. If this is what the future looks like, sign us up. Zero to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds? A full charge in three hours from a regular garage outlet? Approximately 95 mpg? Yes, please. For the i8, BMW chops its classic 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine formula in half. The i8 uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline three-cylinder paired with an electric motor and lithium-ion battery pack. The three-cylinder drives the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission, while the electric motor powers the front wheels through a two-speed automatic. The engine and electric motor combine for 362 horsepower, 420 pound-feet of torque and all-wheel-drive performance, all integrated into a chassis that is 10 pounds lighter and 1.5 inches longer than the 3 Series. The i8 also delivers stellar handling thanks to 50/50 weight distribution and a low, centrally mounted battery pack, although standard 20-inch wheels seem like a suspect choice for maximizing corner-to-corner performance. BMW says the i8 can also travel 22 miles and reach a top speed of 75 mph on electrons alone. Uncorked with the gasoline engine in the lead, it will reach a top speed of 155 mph. Sounds like a pretty good future to us. Lightweight construction helps bring lofty performance within reach, notably an aluminum chassis, chemically hardened glass (similar to that used in smartphones) and extensive use of carbon-fiber-reinforced panels within the 2+2 passenger cabin. Those plus-2 rear seats are small, however, smaller than even a Porsche 911's, and are best considered auxiliary luggage space. Even settling into the front seats requires some practice given its unique scissor-lift-style doors. We drove a recent i8 prototype and found the i8's easy thrust in all-electric mode a close match for the Tesla Model S. In its Sport mode (there are also Comfort and Eco Pro settings), the i8 further awakens, feeling light, agile and averse to body roll. The hybrid never quite overwhelms with acceleration, but it also never feels winded, the electric motor's torque nicely covering for the small turbo as the latter winds up to deliver its power contribution. Whatever the i8 lacks in competitive performance, it won't lack for style. Its low-slung profile is punctuated by standard U-shaped LED headlights. You can even order the i8 with laser headlights where regulations allow (sorry, U.S. shoppers). Inside, a multitiered and layered cockpit design uses recycled materials and naturally treated leather for upholstery and panel surfaces Like the smaller i3 electric car, the i8 will offer three trim levels -- Mega, Giga and Tera -- all with varying degrees of sport and luxury appointments. The 2014 BMW i8 arrives in the spring and starts around $136,000. That's well above its most obvious target, the Tesla Model S, and that kind of money also buys a lot of Porsche 911. Performance aficionados won't likely be swayed and may even look across the BMW lineup to the "M" cars. But for the hybrid buyer seeking power, performance and efficiency through a lower profile, the 2014 BMW i8 presents a unique choice.
