Engine made 792hp/701tq at the flywheel on a superflow engine Dyno. Chassis Dyno showed 618rwhp AT 5500 ONLY - data did not log up to the 6800 it was run to due to a Dyno error. Based on the 70hp increase from 5500 to 6800 rpm on the engine Dyno (horsepower peaks at 6800rpm), we are guessing we have around 670-690hp at the wheels. Car will be back on the Dyno in the spring. 555 BBC - first start '70 pro-touring chevelle
Engine WAS broken in on a Dyno, this is the first start after being installed. 555 ci, 11:1 compression, Callies magnum crank, Mahle pistons, Manley rods, AFR 335 heads, comp solid roller cam, Vic Jr. intake, Pro-Systems 4150 carb, jesel shaft rockers, Isky redline EZ roll lifters, 2" headers, 3" Exhaust with X pipe - pypes race pro mufflers with tail pipes, electric cutouts installed as well. Engine made 790 hp and 701 lb ft of torque on the Dyno. This is in a '70 chevelle, recent pro-touring style restoration. Chevy Big Block Camaro 509 "The Grocery Getter"
This is our 80 Camaro that has been transformed from weak to sick with a 10:1, 509cid solid roller big block, TH400 with Hughs trans kit, Hughs 3000 stall conv., GM 12 bolt rear with Detroit Tru-Trac and Richmond 3.73 gears all custom built by me. Frame connectors, and eurothane bushing's throughout stiffened up the car, Moroso coil springs and Afco rear springs made it all come together. The fiberglass 4"cowl induction hood keeps it all concealed. We love the car and cant wait to get it to the 1/4 mile and chassis Dyno to shoot more video's.
