Ford Fairlanes Being Built
Inside the factory where the fourth generations of Ford Fairlanes are being
built. Probably at the Lorain, Ohio assembly plant. Welding, and lead
applied to round out the curves. They're painted, the engines installed,
glass goes one, water tested, headlights aimed and out to the car hauler
they go. We see a well dressed couple looking at a Fairlane.
he Fairlane name was moved to Ford's new intermediate, introduced for the
1962 model year, to bridge the gap between the compact Ford Falcon and the
full-sized Galaxie, making it a competitor for GM's A-body 'senior
compacts'. With an overall length of 197 in (5004 mm) and a wheelbase of
115.5 in (2934 mm), it was 16 in (406 mm) longer than the Falcon and 12.3
in (312 mm) shorter than the Galaxie.
Like the Falcon, the Fairlane had a unibody frame, but the body
incorporated an unusual feature Ford dubbed 'torque boxes', four boxed
structures in the lower body structure designed to absorb road shock by
moving slightly in the vertical plane. Suspension was a conventional
short-long arm independent arrangement in front, with Hotchkiss drive in
the rear. The Fairlane was initially offered only in two-door or four-door
sedan body styles.
Muscle Car Of The Week Video #56: 1966 Ford Fairlane 427 Lightweight
What happens when you mix a lightweight body with a high-powered 427?
Ford set out to find out with this 1966 Fairlane, and the results were
awesome. This Fairlane does not look like anything special, being
completely devoid of racy looking stripes or fancy trim, but the giveaway
is the scooped lift-off hood and the discreet 427 badges on the fenders.
This car is boasting lightweight aluminum and fiberglass panels from
front to back, and has been assembled without creature comforts inside.
However, it was fitted with the R-Code dual 4-barrel side-oiler 427, a 425
HP race engine for the street. The R-Code rumbles thanks to the high
compression pistons and lumpy cam, and the 4-speed manual box and 3.89
gears help it get out of the hole. Which is what this car was designed
to do, in the form of Super Stock drag racing. Ford only built 57 of
these in 1966, and this one lives among many other unique and
low-production factory racers in the Brothers Collection.
Desert Proofing the Ford Raptor! - Dirt Every Day Episode 2
On this episode of Dirt Every Day, Fred Williams up fits and outfits one of
the coolest 4x4's on the market today, the Ford Raptor. Raptors are high
performance desert machines, but we found one that earns it's owner a
living each week banging around on an obscure desert compound. The owner
is hard on his equipment and we took this poor bird of prey under our wing
for a week to transform it into a more vicious desert predator.
Dirt Every Day appears every other Thursday on the Motor Trend channel.

1965 Ford Fairlane 500 289 2-door 3-spd Start Up, Exhaust, In Depth Review, and Test Drive
Hello and welcome to Saabkyle04! YouTube's largest collection of automotive
variety! In today's video, we will take an up close and personal in depth
look at my 1965 Ford Fairlane 500 289. This particular model is known as
the 2 door sedan due to the tall roofline and b-pillar, also known as a
post car. I purchased this car in February 2011 with the dream of being
able to fix up a car, restore it, and bring back to the original factory
look. I'm a huge fan of classic cars and always have been. My grandfather
"papa" instilled this in me a long time ago, as did my dad when he restored
papa's '48 ford 2 door sedan back when I was little. This car is about 90%
original and numbers matching with the original 289 cubic inch V8 (4.7L)
and the original 3 speed manual on the column. It has an custom dual Exhaust (not sure what kind as it was
already on the car when I bought it), not to mention original wheels,
chrome, door panels, headliner, etc. I bought many items for this car
because I wanted to "option it out" since it was a more "basic" fairlane
500. I will explain EVERY LITTLE detail about the car that you were
curious about and probably more than you cared to know hahaha. I basically
wanted to make this car look as it did from rolling out of the showroom, I
collected original keys, documentation, brochures, an owner's manual and
much more! I DO have the original video of this car when I first got it,
before I did ANYTHING to it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SIbQCRt7Qw This video has been more than a
year in the making and has taken a couple months to edit and get everything
together, a ton of love and pride went into it! I hope everyone enjoys!!!!
During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the
vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel
economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach
you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed
fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership
yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique
differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it
would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion
with rev and Exhaust note with
interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car
designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will
find in depth reviews/tour of automobiles from all over the world,
presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this
gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you
can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is
consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my
presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960
Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of
vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of
the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new,
exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have
built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted
to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be
sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's
Seat of YouTube!
