Take a trip down memory lane to the early years, Amaroo 1979 AMSCAR round
2, heat 2, featuring the Holden Torana A9X with the unusual combination of
Bob Morris, Allan Moffat and Allan Grice all driving the A9X, a rare moment
in Touring Car History. Also featuring bonus interviews with the drivers
and legendary sponsor of touring car racing Ron Hodgson himself. All
rights Channel 7 Sport, great contributors to Australian motorsport

Amaroo Park was a 1.9 kilometres (1.2 mi) motor racing circuit located in
Annangrove, New South Wales, in the present-day western suburbs of Sydney,
Australia. It was opened in 1967, hosting its first motorcycle meeting on
26 February with a 30 lap production race won by Larry Simons on a BSA
Spitfire in heavy rain. The first dry meeting saw the lap record set by
Jack Ahearn at 63.9 seconds. The road circuit served as a venue for a
variety of competitions including the Castrol 6 Hour motorcycle race,
rounds of the Australian Touring Car Championship, Formula Ford, Formula
5000, historic racing and others. The last Australian Touring Car
Championship round to take place at the circuit was in 1994.

V8 nitrous Torana Pro Street now big blocked - ITUFLJ
Mick McGrath's Pro Street Blown Holden Torana has always been a
fantastically presented race car. The car has recently undgone a big change
in switching to a big block Chevy V8 555ci engine. A Nitrous assisted V8 small block 427ci had
previously pushed the car into the 7-second zone and this was the car's
first time out with the new engine combination.

One of the loudest cars we've heard at the track in a long time in Karl
Wicht's fantastic looking Holden SS Torana. The car is powered by a Dandy
Engines big block 555ci Chev and Boosted by a large Procharger F3R blower. Karl
has only run a handful of passes and already is getting the runs on the

Travis Connor's black Pro Street missile is one loud Torana! The car is
powered by a blown and injected 540ci big block V8 and was running deep 7s
at 190+mph at the APSA shootout at Willowbank Raceway recently.
