1963 Ford Thunderbird Convertible - Cool Cars, Hot Cars, Fast Cars
Originally brought to market in response to Chevrolet's Corvette, the Ford
Thunderbird was promoted as a "personal luxury car" that just happened to
be very sporty. This campaign, combined with sticker prices lower than
Corvette's, brought tremendous success for the Thunderbird through 1955 to
The rousing popularity of the Thunderbird prompted Ford executives to
broaden it's appeal. The all new Thunderbird for 1958 was a larger
four-seater car that retained the sleek sport styling of it's first
The third generation Thunderbird for 1961-1963 was very futuristic and
unlike anything else on the road. The tonneau cover, which hides the rear
seats, is rare today as it was an expensive option. But it's availability
completes the 61-63 T-bird convertible as among the most striking
automobiles produced to this day.

those aren't the kind of things you'll be seeing here. This site is about
the most important coolness factors: Performance and Styling.
Auto enthusiasts share a common interest, but they each have different
ideals about performance and styling. We like to make videos that show off
cool cars and celebrate the individuality of their owners.

1964 ThunderBird Convertible
1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible
There are a lot of unique cars out there but look closely at a Thunderbird
and you will be surprised at how many neat features it has. This 1964
Thunderbird is extremely tight and runs incredibly well. These cars had a
look all of there own and really stand out in the crowd. It is coated a
very nice Red that has been buffed out to a great finish. The front end
appearance is very unique and that large chrome grill/bumper has a
beautiful shine. The dual headlights are cleanly mounted in recessed style
coves and are framed in nice polished bezels. To both front fenders are
the original style bullet turn signal indicators and the hood has the
correct scoop and trim. In the rear are the long taillights that work just
as they should. Where most cars have individual bezels for the taillights
these cars utilizes an entirely chromed rear section. Another cool feature
is the rear fender skirts which fit nicely in place and are topped with
Tbird emblems. Nicely chromed mirrors are in place on both sides and are
both easily adjustable. The car has a very solid stance and rolls around
on beautiful Kelsey Hayes wire wheels with Thunderbird knock off style
Giving life to this machine is a 390 V8 that was finished out very nicely.
Chrome looks flashy but there is something very appealing about a motor
done in this way. All of the components are cleanly painted in a factory
style that really pops. Small touches like the decals really make the
difference in giving it that original look. The inner fenders are nicely
painted to match the car with the firewall coated black. Backing this up
is a nice automatic transmission that shifts smoothly with no issues. This
car really is a great driver that runs just as beautifully as it looks.
The interior of the car brings us to a feature every TBird enthusiast is
quick to point out. Nicely in place on the dash is the tilt away steering
column which adjusts to the left and right allowing the driver to easily
hop in and out of place. Not only was this a functional feature it was an
idea thought up by the designers to give the new models something unique to
create a buzz about the car.
The interior upholstery is completed in a two tone Red and White that looks
great. Everything is in gorgeous condition from the trim down to the
smallest knob on the dash. An original style center console is in place
which provides extra storage and houses the Thunderbird AM/FM radio and the
AC/Heat controls. A power top is also in place which easily lowers and
raises the BRAND NEW high quality white cloth top. Make sure to check out
our videos to see the top smoothly raise and lower.

1960 FORD THUNDERBIRD CONVERTIBLE - IT'S BRAND NEW!
So it's 1960 and you go to the local Ford dealer to check out the '60
Thunderbirds. The salesman shows you this convertible that just came in.
This is what a brand new Thunderbird looks like although several people
took it for a test drive. There are only a little over 1,000 original miles
clocked on this car! Absolutely brand spanking new Thunderbird. This baby
is powered by the sturdy V8, 352 cid with 300 horses. The larger V8, 430
cid with 350 horses was available also. Production of 1960 T-bird
convertibles amounted to 11,860. So maybe with an estimated survival rate
of 10%, perhaps only 1,100 of these convertibles still exist. The price tag
on these ran about $4,222 - a pricey sum in 1960. I couldn't risk taping
the interior but seeing it I can state that it was astounding. Also
delightful to the eyes was the original and rare wire wheels and the
continental kit mounted on the rear. I hope you enjoyed this time travel
with the fantasy of being at the dealer and negotiating the purchase of
this Thunderbird. You bought it! The sold sign is on the windshield. Thanks
very much for viewing this brand new 1960 Thunderbird convertible.

Thought you'd like a look at this very original 65 Ford Thunderbird that's
