order, as are the contrasting original specification RS2000 decals. The

The interior of this vehicle has not escaped the extensive program of
refurbishment, starting with the high quality front sports seats offering
both comfort and steadfast support upon even the wildest cornering! A vast
array of driver controls and aids leave no doubt what lies ahead for the
thrill seeking owner. Everything from driver/passenger intercom to the
optimal gear shift indicator is presented in a proven formula. Weight
saving aluminium essentials such as the fuel tank, battery holder and spare
wheel locator are neatly fabricated in the boot area and echoes the care ,

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Jeff Harris at Harris Performance Engines (HPE) has created a marvel with
this Pinto unit. With over 70 years of trading, HPE Motorsport is world
renowned and this build demonstrates the best at what they do. With 179bhp
and 162lbsft of torque using quality components fun and reliability are
assured. The digital gear position indicator reveals a £3,697 Quaife
six-speed sequential gearbox has been fitted. With full throttle
microprocessor controlling changes, using the clutch over 5000rpm is not
necessary! A further £1,000 invoice detailing the fitting of a Quaife ATB
helical gear limited slip differential again proves the 'no expense spared'
mentality to this build. A 4-2-1 configuration full Ashley Exhaust system emits a bark that is intoxicating
and addictive. Truly awesome.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Polished Superlight 7X13 alloy wheels are shod in Yokohama ADVAN AO48
185/60 R13 tyres with the boot mounted spare unused. Uprated vented discs
have been fitted up front with braided lines and a bias brake lever is
located to the right of the steering column should the driver wish to
initiate launch control!
Registered new on the 6th February 1973 as a humble Escort 1100 Base this
car lead an unassuming but cherished life until being purchased by Mr Alan
Pont in August 2005 with just three former keepers. Mr Pont embarked upon
an incredible quest to recreate a Ford legend, with a competitive twist.
The result is of course the magnificent creation offered here. Mr Pont
cherished his masterpiece until 2009 when current owner Simon Milner
managed to convince him to sell. Featured in 'classic ford' magazine and
exhibited at numerous classic car shows this wonderful example is used to
the limelight and the new owner needs to prepare for this! Two files of
history and invoices will provide confirmation of the huge expense poured
into this recreation that will leave the next custodian satisfied this is
something very special.

The Mark I Ford Escort was introduced in the United Kingdom at the end of
1967, making its show debut at Brussels Motor Show in January 1968. It
replaced the successful long running Anglia. The car was presented in
continental Europe as a product of Ford's European operation. Escort
production commenced at Halewood in England during the closing months of
1967, and for left hand drive markets during September 1968 at the Ford
plant in Genk. Initially the continental Escorts differed slightly from
the UK built ones under the skin. The front suspension and steering gear
were differently configured and the brakes were fitted with dual hydraulic
circuits; also the wheels fitted on the Genk-built Escorts had wider
rims. At the beginning of 1970, continental European production
transferred to a new plant on the edge of Saarlouis, West Germany.
The 2.0 L RS2000 version, with its distinctively slanted polyurethane nose,
and featuring the Pinto engine from the Cortina, was announced in the UK in
March 1975 and introduced in Germany in August 1975, being reportedly
produced in both countries. It provided a claimed 110 bhp and a top speed
of 110 mph (177 km/h). For acceleration to 100 km/h (62.5 mph) a time of
just 8.9 seconds was claimed by the manufacturers.
