1979 Pontiac Trans Am Review 7-22-2008
TestDriveMyRide.com is an idea for car reviews of real cars by real people. This test video is a review of my 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. This restored vehicle features a 300 horsepower Chevy 350 V8, 700r4 overdrive transmission, 3.42 rear gears, flowmaster Exhaust, and subframe connectors. Original black on black t-top vehicle with fresh paint and interior. The original Oldsmobile 403 only had 180 horsepower, but these cars can return to the muscle car era with only a few tweaks/mods.

Dyno testing and tuning a 1976 Bandit Trans Am
After the paint and decals, it was time to get this hot rod tuned up. I took it to the best muscle car guy in the Denver Metro area. Jay can squeeze every horse out of this all stock car without modifying anything. it's still all numbers matching, and after this test he's already gotten me another 38 hp. to play with.
1978 Pontiac Trans Am Special Edition running ( Smokey & The Bandit )
My '78 Trans Am 400 CID 4 BBL V8, 200-R4 auto transmission with overdrive and a 12 bolt rear main wth Richmond 4:11 gears. Built in Norwood, OH, it was shipped to Atlanta, GA and spent all of her life there until I bought it in August '08. My son Spencer and I flew down to Atlanta and drove her back - boy was that a blast! The registration is the same as in Smokey & The Bandit. The rims were reconditioned perfectly and the brand new tires have less than 50 miles. The interior will be completely restored by the end of September (new vinyl seats, door panels and bezel are all that's needed).
