This 53 Cadillac convertible has been owned by the same family since 1962.
It has been very well preserved and is in gorgeous original condition.
Looks real close at fit and finish and you will agree that this is a
fabulous car! It was not an easy decision for them to decide to part with
the car. Lots of great memories are attached and they feel it is time for a
new chapter for this wonderful Cadillac. I am sure it will be a long time
before another this nice comes along. Remember, this is not a restored car.

1964 Cadillac: Big, Black & Blown - /BIG MUSCLE
This is a 1964 Cadillac DeVille drop-top. It's got a blown 468 cubic-inch
big block, 600 plus horsepower, and if you
haven't figured it out by now, it's a friggin' carnival ride on four
wheels. I stumbled upon this amazing machine while walking through a car
show in Alameda, CA and after speaking with owner Ron Dean, I knew it was
something that had to be featured on BIG MUSCLE. Stretching 20-feet in
length and having a personality that simply can't be ignored, this old
DeVille not only kicks sand in the face of other hot-rods, but does so
while maintaining all the comfort and class that vintage Cadillac's are
1938 Cadillac Series 90 V-16 Touring Sedan - driving
Body Number 15 - Body Style number 9019 - Chassis and engine number 5270087
By 1938 the end was in site for the mighty V16, for 1938 ONLY 308 V16 were
produced, with only 43 of those being the touring sedan as presented here,
and this is the ONLY ONE produced with the custom bar in the back of the
front seat. This art deco masterpiece, is documented in the survivor list,
and has a matching number engine and chassis. It is also the earliest
survivor, of the production known to still be equipped with the original
matching numbers engine.
1953 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe with Factory Air Conditioning Part 1
This was a spur-of-the-moment project, so excuse the obvious unprofessional
blunders. I hadn't had the car out in awhile--I took it to the shop to
have some oil added to the AC system as I could hear the compressor
rattling a bit. Since I'd gotten a camera several weeks ago, i decided to
see how it works outside and this is the result. In Part 2, I go over the
Since it was so spur-ot-the-moment, I forgot some of the things I meant to
say in the commentary:
It was bought new in San Antonio, TX by a packing company family named
Steurnagel. They sold it to an employee in 1974 who kept it until 1988. I
talked to this person and he said when he got it in '74 it still had its
factory tires. He sold it to a Cadillac collector in 1988 who wanted it
for his wife to drive since it had AC. She passed away soon after that and
I found it in the October '89 issue of Hemmings Motor News. It had a miss
and the #1 cylinder had an anti-fouler plug in it. All it required to get
it running good was replacing a bent push rod on #1 and a carb kit. It had
25K miles on it in '89 and it now has 40K.
These cars have the new Dual-Range Hydra-Matic in conjunction with a 3.07
axle ratio--there are two "Drive" ranges available, one which locks the
transmission into 3rd gear.
