http://www.autobytel.com/ford/Mustang/2013/?id=32972 The 2013 Ford Mustang 5.0 GT continues the heritage of the pony car in a big way. The base Mustang comes with a powerful V-6 engine while the GT gets the venerable 5.0 liter V-8 engine. The Mustang is a no non-sense muscle car that combines everything from the old iconic car and combines it with modern technology. The result is a great performing sports car that pays homage to the Mustangs of year gone by. The 2013 Ford Mustang base V-6 costs $22,200 while the 5.0 GT Coupe starts at $30,300. The 2013 Mustang GT is powered by a 5.0 liter V-8 engine that makes 412 horsepower and 390 lb-ft. of torque. The engine features a high 11:1 compression ratio, Coil on Plug ignition, and variable camshaft timing. Transmission choices are either a six-speed manual or a six-speed SelectShift automatic. Fuel economy figures are 15 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The 2013 Ford Mustang features a new front end that looks similar to the Shelby GT500 with its aggressive front bumper and splitter that adds downforce. The hood features functional heat extractors. The wheels are 18-inch painted aluminum pieces. Out back the taillights have LEDs integrated in them which really pop at night. On the inside the 2013 Ford Mustang GT also revisits some former glory with a big dose of modern technology. Retro meets cool thanks to the stylish gauges and the double dip dash. The Recaro seats hint at the true sports car heritage underneath. These seats are comfortable and very supportive. The aluminum accents give the Mustang some flair while the interior lighting can be adjusted to fit your mood. The Shaker Audio System includes a few subwoofers. The 2013 Ford Mustang GT is a car you can have a blast in. No longer is the Mustang a straight-line Muscle car, instead it has morphed into a true sports car with a very affordable price tag. You can order the 2013 Ford Mustang as a coupe or a convertible. There is a great variety of extras, options, and packages to make your Mustang stand out from the crowd. http://www.autobytel.com/lexus/rx-450h/2012/?id=32972 The 2012 Lexus 450h is a crossover luxury SUV that is not only great to drive, but it also has excellent fuel economy ratings. The RX series has been a wonderful selling line of luxury crossovers since 1998 and the Hybrid model sits at or near the top of the list of most fuel efficient SUVs year after year. And the Lexus RX 450h is an AutoPacific 2012 Vehicle Satisfaction Award winner. The RX 450h comes in 2 different trim levels. The first is the FWD model which has a base price of $45,235. The second is the AWD model which has a base price of $46,825. The RX hybrid is powered by an Atkinson cycle 3.5 liter V-6 engine that produces 245 horsepower and 244 lb-ft. of torque. The hybrid powertrain features two electric motors that give an extra Boost to the V-6 engine adding 50 HP. Fuel economy ratings are 32 MPG in the city and 28 MPG on the highway. Not only is the RX hybrid very fuel efficient, but it is also a Super Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle. The 2012 Lexus RX 450h sports two systems that help in both efficiency and emissions. The Exhaust Heat Recovery system that helps with the warm up of the vehicle and Exhaust Gas Recirculation which is water cooled and reduces pumping losses. It is not just the Lexus Hybrid Drive that is responsible for the great MPG ratings. The RX hybrid features a start-stop system to increase fuel economy. The luxury hybrid can also run on battery power alone. The ECO mode monitor shows the driver how to drive in a more efficient manner. The RX hybrid sports the first Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission which is meant to keep the luxury SUV in the right gear at all time thus maximizing efficiency. The steering unit runs off electricity instead on a belt driven by the engine. The result is less strain on the engine resulting in better MPG. The 2012 Lexus RX 450h uses a regenerative braking system to power the batteries. On the outside the 3rd generation RX features a bold and exciting new design with a new bumper, headlight assembly, and new grille. Dimensions have been increased a bit and cargo room is up 5%. The real news is that the drag coefficient has been reduced to 0.33 thanks in large part to the rear wing which reduces air turbulence. On the inside the 2012 Lexus RX hybrid is all luxury and technology. The 8-inch navigation is voice activated and a heads-up display projects directions onto the windshield. Supply leather abounds and the front seats are heated and ventilated units that are power adjustable. The 2012 Lexus RX 450h is a wonderful 5-passenger luxury crossover SUV that gets incredible gas mileage. Both green and efficient, the RX hybrid is a great choice. 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S Test Drive & Sports Car Video Review
http://www.autobytel.com/porsche/911/2012/?id=32972 The Porsche 911 recently got a thorough refresh for the 2012 model year. This is the 7th generation of 911 to hit the American car market. Since the 1960's Porsche has been known to produce some of the fastest sports cars the world over. But in recent years the Porsche brand as combined high end luxury with their 911 sports car. There are literally 18 different models of the Porsche 911 for the 2012 model year with the base price Carrera costing $79,000 and the top of the line turbo S with the PDK transmission costing $172,100. But the model reviewed here costs about $105,000. The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S is powered by a 3.8 liter 6-cylinder engine that produces 400 horsepower and 325 lb-ft. of torque. There are 2 different transmission choices available; the first is a 7-speed manual gearbox that features a long ration 7th gear to help aid in fuel economy, and the second transmission is a 7-speed PDK is a double-clutch gearbox that can change gears within milliseconds. Fuel economy is 22 MPG in the city and 26 MPG on the highway. The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera has some great fuel saving technologies. First with the PDK transmission, the 911 has what is called coating mode which essentially drops the RPMs to less than 1k so that the car uses less fuel. There is a start-stop system which shuts the engine off while stopped. This technology is commonly found on hybrid vehicles. For this new refresh Porsche made many styling changes. But you can rest easy know the same basic body style that has remained over the past couple of decades is still quite evident. This 7th generation Porsche 911 Carrera is a bit wider with the wheel base getting stretched by 4 inches. With those new dimensions, the 2012 Porsche 911 now has a much better ride. At the rear of the car are newly designed taillights featuring LED lights. As mentioned earlier, the new direction Porsche is taking is to integrate the best luxury amenities and materials as possible into their sports cars. The 911 is no exception as it benefits from great 18-way adjustable seats, an Alcantara headliner, as well as premium materials covering most surfaces in the cabin. Safety wise the Porsche 911 has a handful of front and side impact airbags that feature a two-stage impact system. The bags partially inflate in minor accidents and fully inflate for serious accidents thereby minimizing discomfort for the passengers in slower fender benders. The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S is a luxurious sports car that can accelerate from 0-60 MPH in the low 4-seconds range. The 911 has all the creature comforts and technological gadgets you could ever want. And to top it all off this is one great looking sports car. http://www.autobytel.com/ford/taurus/2013/?id=32972 The Ford Taurus dates all the way back to the 1986 model year. Over the past 25 years the Taurus has had its ups and downs. When the Japanese mid-sized sedans starting winning the sales war, Ford shifted their attention to SUVs. And the Taurus was eventually discontinued being replaced at the mid-size level by the Fusion and at the full-size level by the Ford 500. Well now the Taurus is back and better than ever. The 6th generation debuted in 2010 and has now received a refresh for the 2013 model year. There are 4 different trim levels including the base SE which costs $26,600, the SEL which costs $28,800, the Limited which costs $33,000, and the SHO which costs $39,200 and is reviewed elsewhere. The 2013 Ford Taurus is a full-sized sedan that was given a mean and sharp look that follows Ford's new design direction. Up front the grille, projector headlights, and LED running lights really grab your attention. The Taurus has a wide stance at over 76-inches which give this sedan a comfortable ride. Out back the 2013 Ford Taurus features an integrated spoiler on the trunk, and a chrome-tipped dual Exhaust system. Depending on the trim level there are a couple of different wheel packages. The SE trim gets 17-inch rims, the SEL trim gets 18-inch rims, and the Limited gets 19-inch rims. There is an option to upgrade to large 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. The 2013 Ford Taurus comes in both FWD and AWD configurations. There are 3 different engine to choose from. The base engine is a 3.5 liter V-6 that makes 288 horsepower and 254 lb-ft. of torque. This engine has a 6-speed automatic and gets 19 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway. The second engine is a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine that makes 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft. of torque. This smaller displacement engine gets the best gas mileage at 22 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway. The top of the line engine is a twin-turbo 3.5 liter found on the SHO model. You can learn more about that engine by watching our review of the Taurus SHO below. On the inside the Taurus gives you a premium interior with lots of technology and passenger amenities. The seats are high quality leather and feature power adjustable controls with both heating and cooling option.
